Vizier Sr., 66, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 5:04 p.m. May 29, 2005. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Lighthouse Worship Center in Galliano. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the center, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. He is survived by his wife, Gloria H. Vizier; sons, Tommie J. Jr. and Fred Vizier; daughters, Roseanna, Heather and Melissa Vizier; brother, Jimmie Vizier; sisters, Jane Rochon, Verna Callais and Rosemary V. Ledet; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odee' and Leoncia C. Vizier; sons, Aaron Paul Vizier, Nicholas Odee' Vizier and Eli Lawerence Odee' Punch; brothers, Morris "Black" and Valcor "Chico" Vizier; sisters, Odette Thibodeaux and Mary Gilbert. He was a tug boat captain and received the U.S. Merchant Marine Seamanship Trophy, and was the Seaman of the Year for 1980, 1982 and 1983 from the U.S. Coast Guard. He received an award from Admirals of the Ocean Seas, New York. He received citations of merit from the marine section of the National Safety Council, American Institute of Merchant Shipping and Ship Safety Achievement Award. Donations to the National Hemophilia Foundation in the names of Aaron Vizier and Elia Punch at 116 W. 32nd St., 11th Floor, New York, N.Y., 10001 are preferred.
