A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Louis Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Velma Samanie Daigle of Bayou Blue; sons, Larry Daigle, Wilbert Warren Daigle of Bayou Blue, and Elphege "John" Daigle of Houma; daughters, Dolores Thibodaux, Peggy Bourg, Grace Terrebonne of Bayou Blue, and Theresa Lirette of Houma; brother, Nelson Daigle of Harvey; 17 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphege Joseph Daigle and Ann Angeline Guidry Daigle Samanie; grandson, Alvy Thibodaux Jr.; brothers, Edley J. Daigle Sr., Herbert Daigle and Joseph Daigle; half-brothers, Shelly, Henry and Charles Daigle; sister, Nellie Daigle Caro; and half-sisters, Philomene Daigle, Magnolia Sears, Elda Thibodeaux, Ozia Sonnier, and Mathilda Bergeron. He was a retired truck driver for 30 years with Delta Iron Work and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
