Naquin, 52, a native of Riverside, Calif., and resident of Thibodaux, died March 28, 2005. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Waguespack Naquin; parents, Jackie "Jacko" and Ruby Zeringue Naquin; son, Pfc. Philip J. Naquin; daughter, Renee C. Naquin; brothers, Mike and Mark Naquin; and sister, Connie N. Stuckey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Ada Arcement Zeringue and Henry B. and Elise Riviere Naquin. Barry received his nursing degree from nicholls State University and was employed as a registered nurse at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center prior to his illness. He also received a B.A. in social studies education from Nicholls. He served for six years in the U.S. Navy and 24 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard until his retirement. He was a Vietnam-era veteran, as well as a Persian Gulf War veteran, who served in Operation Desert Storm with the former 159th MASH National Guard unit from Jackson Barracks. He was a member of the VFW Post 05097, American Legion Post 0011, Protector Fire Co. No. 2, LA State Firemen's Association, Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity and the Single Action Shooting Society. He enjoyed Civil War reenacting and cowboy action shooting. Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
