Bessie Morris						[Photo]

Bessie Gilliland Morris, 95, a native of Golden, Miss., and resident of Houma, 
died at 12:15 p.m. March 13, 2005.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Chauvin 
Funeral Home in Houma. A religious service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at 
the funeral home, with burial at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, William C. "Bill" Morris of Houma; daughter, Betty 
Jo Cenac of Houma; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Morris Sr.; parents, Ira 
Buchannon Gilliland and Cleo Patra Gilliland; brothers, Burl and Buck "Weaver" 
Gilliland; sisters, Cortel, Rubel and Sally Vista Gilliland.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
