A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon at the church, with burial taking place at Lakelawn Cemetery in Metairie. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Douglas Sevin; four sons, Earl J. Sevin Jr., Michael Sevin, Brent M. Douglas and Travis J. Douglas; two daughters, Ruth Sevin Johnson and Aurita Sevin Ponsaa; a brother, John J. Sevin; two sisters, Marguerite Sevin Punch and Dolores Sevin Oppermann; and two grandchildren, Christine E. Sevin and Joseph R. Sevin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. Sevin and Lily Babin; and his sister, Dorothy Sevin. He was a parishioner of St. Gertrude Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran. He served on the committee of the Catfish Festival. He was also an avid sportsman who loved to cook. He was a retired electrician with IBEW Local 130. Gone fishing. Samart Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
