James Chenier Sr.

James "Jim" Chenier Sr., 70, a native and resident of Vacherie, died March 26, 
2005.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 to 10 a.m. 
Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie. A Mass of Christian 
burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at the 
church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Lassere Chenier; sons and daughters-in-law, 
Arlan Sr. and Amber Chenier, Glen Sr. and Romona Chenier, Carl Sr. and Renee 
Chenier and James Jr. and Bernice Chenier; daughters and sons-in-law, Nora C. 
and Walter Morris and Cindy C. and Roy Dupre; brothers, Fred, Jessie, Elton and 
Lou Gary Chenier; sister, Peggy Barrilleaux; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Sinodie Falgoust Chenier; 
and infant daughter, Flora.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
