Joseph Girouard					[Photo]

Joseph Presley Girouard, 82, a native of Jefferson Island, a former resident of 
Thibodaux for 35 years and resident of Lake Jackson, Texas, died Jan. 28, 2005.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Jan. 31 at St. Michael's Catholic 
Church.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Girouard of Lake Jackson; son, Mark Louis 
Girouard of Houston, Texas; brother, John Girouard of Lake Jackson; sister, 
Leola Landry of Freeport; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Clemence Girouard.

He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He was a foreman for Freeport Chemical Co., a parishioner of St. Michael's 
Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer member of the Thibodaux 
Volunteer Fire Department. He also helped with the Boy Scouts of America.

Donations to The American Cancer Society or St. Michael's Catholic Church are 
preferred.
