Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial in Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her mother, Ella Mae Charles of Raceland; one daughter, Shawanna Lynn Charles of Raceland; four brothers, Larry and wife, Delores, Charles, Vernon and wife, Lisa, Charles, Donald Charles and Lorne Charles, all of Raceland; one foster brother, Perry and wife, Suzette, Earl of Raceland; and five sisters, Agnes Hampton, Jennifer and Michelle Charles of Raceland, Simmone and husband, Jerome, Jackson of Houma and Darnisha Charles of Angleton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Charles; and her grandparents, Jordan and Agnes Franklin Baptist, Odeal and Edgar Coulon and William and Polly Charles. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a former member of the Debonair Social Club and Krewe of Ghana Carnival Club.
