Blanchard Sr., 81, a native and resident of Labadieville, died March 26, 2005. Visitation will be 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Cherry Naquin Blanchard; sons and daughters-in-law, Nolan A. Jr. and Kim Blanchard, Steven J. and Angela Blanchard, David P. and Maria Blanchard, Robert F. and Caroline Blanchard; stepchildren and their spouses, Susan and Stan Hays, Lindon and Marcia Naquin, Patty and Bruce Poirrier, David and Patty Naquin, Mary Beth and David Elfert, Donald Naquin and Karen Naquin; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel B. and Eddie Kertz; nine grandchildren 12 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Arboneaux Blanchard; parents, Andrew and Leoncia Hebert Blanchard; brother, Earl Blanchard; sister, Ester Mae B. Gros. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Philomena Catholic Church. He loved life, fishing, gardening and hunting. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
