Richard Bethancourt Sr.				[Photo]

Richard Joseph Bethancourt Sr., 80, a native and resident of Houma, died 
Wednesday, March 23, 2005.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral 
Home. A funeral will be held at noon Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home, followed 
by burial at Magnolia Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Grabrielle Cooper Bethancourt of Houma; two sons 
Richard J. "Jr." Bethancourt Jr. and Norris "Jim" Bethancourt, both of Houma; a 
daughter, Carolyn Bethancourt Kyle of Houma; four grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Easton Bethancourt and Lorentine Porche 
Bethancourt; and a brother, Sidney Joseph Bethancourt.

He was a retired gas lift specialist with Texaco Oil Co. for 33 years. He was a 
lifetime member of VFW post 3700, a member of the American Legion, a lifetime 
member of the NRA. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II and a U.S. Air 
Force veteran during the Korean War.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
