Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday at the church, with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his devoted wife, Hilda Huber Pellegrin; stepson, Mickel Brien of Houma; stepdaughters, Rosie and husband Lynwood Guillot of Thibodaux, Barbara Gautreaux and friend Joseph Verret and Norma Solar and friend Bobby Cuttin of Houma; sisters, Catherine Molitor, Hilda Parker and Rosemary Baron; eight step- grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Sr. and Rose Marie Pellegrin; brother, Donovon Pellegrin; step-grandson, Dale Benoit; sisters, Sadie "Peggy" Duplantis, Mersedese Sevier, Della Filardo, Rowena Labat, Imelda Hodo, Elda Cox and Gloria Molitor. He was a loving, kind and gentle man, a native and resident of Houma. He was a parishioner and devoted usher of St. Gregory Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart medal. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus of council 1317, a member of the American Legion, Lions Club and retired from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Post Office.
