Galliano, 84, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, died at 7:45 p.m. March 14, 2005. Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Nefta Cheramie Galliano; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sylvia Galliano and Joseph and Gail Galliano; daughters and sons-in- law, Diana and Anthony "Lou" Allemand and Sylvia and Larry Holmes; sisters, Carrie Adams and Onix Arrington; grandchildren, Tony Navas Jr., Michael Galliano Jr., Trave Galliano, Jade Galliano, Gordon Dufrene, Tiffany Ables, Joseph Galliano Jr., Chad Galliano, Tate Galliano and Magen Galliano; and 13 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Josephine Vega Galliano; brothers, Emile, Landry and Vernon Galliano; and sister, Clara Sowards. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving two Purple Heart medals and numerous other honors. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Galliano and was a oysterman and fisherman all his life. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
