"Bert" Talbot, 79, a resident of Napoleonville, died May 12, 2005. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Braud Talbot; sister, Catherine Talbot Maloney; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherryl Talbot and Bobby Simoneaux, Gayle Talbot and Wayne Boudreaux, Stacy Talbot and Jonathan Comeaux; son and daughter- in-law, Aubert D. Jr. and Sue Talbot; son-in-law, Michael Jerome Small; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death his by daughter, Bobbie Lee Talbot Small; father, Aubert L. Talbot; mother, Elizabeth Dugas Talbot; sisters, Lucille Talbot Foley, Betty Talbot Berniard, Josephine Talbot Carmouche, Jane Talbot Marks; and brothers, Tom and George Talbot. He graduated from high school in 1943 from Gulf Coast Military Acadamy. He then joined the U.S. Army Air Force and was stationed on Guam. After leaving the service, he entered McNeese State College in 1947 he was elected president of the student body and graduated. After leaving McNeese, he attended LSU Law School and graduated in 1951. In 1955 his father died after serving for 36 years as district attorney of the 23rd judicial district. Bert was elected to the position and served for 36 years. The two men held the position for 66 consecutive years. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
