Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Baker Funeral Home in Baker, with religious services from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Port Hudson Veterans' Cemetery in Port Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Audrey Gautreaux Ford; sons, Richard A. Ford and Thomas J. Ford and his wife Pearly, all of Baton Rouge; grandson, Christopher Ford and wife Becky; granddaughters, Amanda Ellis and husband John, Mindy Ford and Madeline Ford; great grandchildren, Christopher, Jr. and Holly Ford, Cole, Connor and Carson Ellis; sisters, Myrtle Tastet, Ada Colonge, Mary Ann Vanacor, all of Des Allemands, Marion Blanchard of Bridge City and Catherine Barrios of Raceland; and brothers, Bill Ford of Houma, and Richard Ford of Bridge City. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lydia Bergeron Ford; sister, Shirley Ford; and brothers, William, Jr., Earl, Patrick, Paul, and Douglas Ford; grandsons, Alexander and Blake Ford. He was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a DAV, a recipient of the Purple Heart from the Battle of the Bulge and a bronze leader of the Commanders' Club. He was a retired member of Local 198, member of the VFW, Mason 32nd Degree and a shriner. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, avid LSU fan, animal lover and friend who will be deeply missed by all. All veterans are invited to military service.
