Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. today and 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, with burial at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Frances Valure Belanger of Houma; son, LeRoy J. Belanger Jr. of Houma; daughters, Mary B. Bourg of Houma, Christine B. Latshaw of Natalbany, and Katherine B. Pepper of Schriever; 13 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie and Josephine Cenac Belanger; sister, Velma B. LeBoeuf. He was a retired police officer who served 20 years with the Houma Police Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Fraternal Order of Police. He was a true patriot for God and country. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
