The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ May 03. 2005 12:24PM Lucy Burcalow Lucy Marie Abercrombie Burcalow, 81, a native of Norman, Ark., former resident of Kilgore, Texas, and Thibodaux and resident of Baton Rouge, died May 1, 2005. A private memorial service will be held in Kilgore at a later date. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, David and Memory Burcalow of Greenfield, N.Y., and U.S. Army Lt. Col. James M. Burcalow, retired, of Platte City, Mo.; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Jimmy Goudeau of Baton Rouge, Elizabeth and Chris Winker of Birmingham, Ala., Katherine Burcalow and Craig Flentke of Austin, Texas, Rosemary and John Vegas of Houston, and Raynelle and Phillip Lanier of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Allison Winkler, Robbie Winkler, Kelly Goudeau, Thomas Lanier, and Elizabeth Burcalow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and John Abercrombie; sisters, Josephine Friend and Ellabeth Abercrombie; brothers, John Abercrombie, Jr., Glenn Abercrombie, and Riley Abercrombie; and granddaughter, Claire Renee Goudeau. Lucy Burcalow loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was also a devoted sports fan of the Houston Astros, LSU Tigers, Nicholls State Colonels, New Orleans Saints and most every other seasonal sport. Rabenhorst Funeral Home of Baton Rouge is in charge of arrangements.
