Menard J. Hymel Sr., 73, a native and resident of Schriever, died May 9, 2005.

Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m today and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Landry's 
Funeral Home in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 
a.m. Thursday at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever, with burial at the 
church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Naquin Hymel; sons and daughters-in-law, James 
and Connie Hymel, Menard "Brother" Jr. and Nora Hymel; daughters and sons-in-
law, Patty and Bobby Hebert, Julie and Allen Gros, Penny Hymel Utz, Kelli and 
Michael Stegall, Holly and Joey Westerman; sister, Lucy Zeringue; 13 
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Bertha Perkins Himel; brother, 
Ernest Hymel; sisters, Julia Chiasson, Harriet Benoit, Irene Thibodaux, Ruby 
Guedry, Hazel Falcon, Kate Himel, Terry Zeringue and Doris Villnerve; and 
grandchildren, Casie Hebert and Anita Gros.

Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
