Beslin Sr., 90, a native of St. Martinville and resident of Thibodaux, died May 11, 2005. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Thibodaux, with burial at St. Joseph Mausoleum. He is survived by his brother, DeBlanc Beslin of St. Martinville; sisters, Lillian B. Hebert of New Iberia and Marie B. Randall of Refugio, Texas; daughter, Anita Beslin Calagna of New Orleans; sons and daughter-in-law, Ralph Jr. and Anita Beslin of Canada, Michael Beslin of Baton Rouge and Scott Beslin of Thibodaux; son-in-law, A.J. Calagna Jr.; grandchildren, A.J. "Tony" III and wife Erin Calagna and Maria Elizabeth Calagna, all of New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Frederick and Emilie DeBlanc Beslin of St. Martinville; wife, Rose Bienvenu Beslin; brothers, Louis, Gus, Fred, H.F. and J.J.; and sisters, Emily, Leona, Philomene, Gladys and Olympe. He was head usher at St. Martin deTours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for many years. He received the Bishop's Medal in 1991 for exemplary service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He sold automobiles for Evangeline Auto Co. and later for Douet Motors in St. Martinville for more than 50 years. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as a car salesman and truly loved interacting with people. There are still car buyers who ask for "Mr. Ralph." He was a patient of St. Joseph Hospice of Thibodaux. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
