Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Mallicout Devine of Houma; sons, James Russel Devine and Joseph Eugene Devine; sisters, Elizabeth Corry of Arrowsmith, Ill and Mary J. Devine of Bloomington; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marian Thompson Devine. He was a butcher at Rouses. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a lifelong fan of driver Bill Elliot. He was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. As a hobby, he enjoyed doing mechanic work on cars. He was loved by many and missed by all. He was a member of Grace Bible Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
