A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Mathews, with burial at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport. She is survived by her sons, Daniel J. Ayo Sr.; daughters, Verna Mae A. Babin, Mary Jane A. Parks and Pamela A. Porche; brothers, Malvin LeCompte and Roland LeCompte; sisters, Eula L. Cancienne, Lillian L. Davis and Helen L. Dufour; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. "Joe" Ayo; parents, Willie and Evelyn Chauvin LeCompte; daughter, Doris A. Knight; brothers, Albert, Duffy and Herman LeCompte; sisters, Della L. Robichaux and Elma L. Robichaux; and three grandchildren. She was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
