Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at the church. She is survived by her husband, T.J. "Lou" Robichaux; sons, Thomas Jr., John and Paul; daughters, Cathleen Smith and Ruth Falgout; sons-in-law, Louis Smith Jr. and Ted Falgout; daughters-in-law, Suzanne L. Robichaux, Sherry D. Robichaux and Jerri M. Robichaux; grandchildren, Nicole Williams, Michelle Melancon, Joe Robichaux, Ann Robichaux, Mike Falgout, Mark Falgout, Sam and Ben Robichaux; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rene P. LeBlanc and Rowena Claudet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rene J. LeBlanc and Avelias R. LeBlanc; and siblings, Wade LeBlanc, Daisy Fanguy, Gladys Sampey and Mildred Allemand. She graduated from Larose High School and obtained her teaching credentials from Louisiana Normal College in Natchitoches in 1939. At the age of 63, she achieved her goal of obtaining her bachelor's degree from Nicholls State University. She taught elementary school in Galliano and Larose and later at Holy Rosary Catholic School in Larose. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose and was a member of the church's Ladies Altar Socieity. She was a dedicated member of the society and regularly helped to clean the church on weekends. Through the years, she sewed several hundred baptismal bibs which were given to children baptized at Holy Rosary. She was the parish correspondent for the Bayou Catholic for many years. In 1987, she received the Bishop's Medal for her faithful service to the church. She was also a charter member of the Bayou Civic Club and inspired her family to dedicate their efforts to success of that organization. She will be remembered as a devout Christian, an educator, a wonderful mother and wife, and a dedicated citizen of the community. She enjoyed family gatherings, crafts, quilting and travel with her husband and friends.
