A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie. He donated his body to science. He was the stepfather and father-in-law of Donald and Geralyn Conrad and Darlene Dreyer; brother of Belta R. Inness and Vicky R. Rougee'; brother-in-law of Raymond Rougee' and Inge Reulet; beloved grandfather of Kamie, Donald Jr., Darr and Casey Conrad; great-grandfather of Haydn, Brittin, Laila and Kamryn; godfather of Kathy I. Folse. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Reulet and Agathe Kliebert Reulet; brother Jean P. Reulet; and brother-in-law John Inness. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of VFW and the American Legion. He retired from St. James Parish Utilities. Peter H. Brewerton "It's a great life if you don't weaken." This was a favorite quotation of Father Peter Brewerton who died Feb. 19, 2006, at St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge. He was born in Burnside on March 14, 1910. He was ordained a Catholic priest in New Orleans in May 1940. He served the Diocese of New Orleans until 1945 when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a naval chaplain. He served as chaplain from 1945 to 1961 during which time he had many converts to the Catholic faith including a Japanese war criminal prior to execution. He returned to New Orleans to continue his ministry and served in numerous parishes. He transferred to the Diocese of Houma in 1971 as chaplain of St. Joseph Hospital until he retired in 1975. He built his retirement home and called it The Oremus House where he had a chapel and continued his ministry to whoever would come. He closed The Oremus House in 1999 and moved to St. Joseph Manor in Thibodaux until the last move to St. Clare Manor in Baton Rouge. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 78 years. He is survived by his sister Margaret Melancon and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caroline Victoria King Brewerton and Joseph Herbert Brewerton; sisters Ruth B. Robert, Alice B. Deselle; brothers John L. Brewerton Sr., Paul Brewerton and Alfred Brewerton. The funeral Mass and visitation prior to Mass will be at St. John Catholic Church on La. 1 north of Thibodaux. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday with burial at the mausoleum behind the church. Pallbearers will be John M. Robert Sr., John L. Brewerton Jr., Robert F.
