His career included assignments as the White House senior policy analyst on national security space programs, Air Force Space Command's director of operations, the military assistant for space to the secretary of the Air Force, commander of the 2nd Space Wing and commander of the 9th Space Division. His Air Force career culminated when he assumed command of the 45th Space Wing at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., in 1991. Following his Air Force career, he served as vice president with GRCI in Cocoa Beach, Fla., where he retired in 1998. He remained active in the community.
