She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey J. Naquin; her parents, Mathilde Bourgeois and Wallace J. Thibodaux; and four sisters, Hattie LeBlanc, Pearl Mothe, Betty Talbot and Gladys Thibodaux. She was an educator and principal at Bayou Blue Elementary School for 43 years beginning in 1926, teaching 17 students in a one-room school house and retiring from the current elementary school in 1970. She was the driving force in the community, which inspired her students to continue their education. She held a professional membership in the Lafourche Parish Teachers Association, Elementary Principals Association, local and national Retired Teacher's Associations, the Raceland Fire Department's Grand Marshal's Club and the Lafourche Parish Chamber of Commerce. She was a charter member of the Bayou Blue Senior Citizens Organization and volunteered many years in organizing and working at the annual St. Louis Church Parish Fair. She began an adult-education program in Bayou Blue and with her husband, Aubrey, spearheaded the American Red Cross drive for many years. He was a Health and Safety Supervisor at Shell Puget Sound Refinery for 14 months and previously worked for Shell Oil in Convent and Norco, Motiva, L.L.C., Star Enterprises, Barbera Chevrolet, Equitable Insurance Co. and also played professional football with the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Colts. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 20 years with the 377 Theater Support Command and 469th Finance Group in New Orleans, where he received many awards. He worked for Chromalloy American for 10 years, first as president of its oil-and-gas services division in Houma and later as president of the Fortune 200 conglomerate based in St. Louis. After leaving Chromalloy, he and an investment group bought Chromalloy's oil-and-gas services division and renamed it Delta Services based in Houma. He founded Toups Technology Licensing, which became EarthFirst Technologies and was president and board member until his health failed earlier this year. He served in the European Theater in World War II, participated in the Allied invasion of Normandy on D-Day and was a member of the liberation force at Buchenwald.
