She is survived by one daughter, Paulette Guion and husband, Jim, of The Woodlands; two sons, Thomas Michel of Pineville and Daniel Michel of Lafayette; one sister, Jeanne Breaux Crochet of Houma; dearly loved by eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and cherished by nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Joseph Michel; and parents, Sadie Adoue and Henry Breaux. Determined and courageous, she traveled by train to Lafayette where she earned a teaching degree in 1940 from Southwestern Louisiana. She took her first teaching job at Dularge Graded and in the years that followed used her talents serving elementary-age children. Many of her students from Dularge, Schriever, Donner, Gibson, Houma Elementary and Honduras School learned their basics in her classroom. She will be remembered for her dancing, cooking, crocheting and traveling, but will be most remembered as our momma, maw maw, big nanny, sister, friend Evelyn and teacher. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a member of Terrebonne Parish Retired Teachers Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lula Lovell Chauvin; and one brother, Danny Chauvin. He graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1960, attended Louisiana State University and graduated from Nicholls State University. He was a coach, teacher and school administrator for 40 years. He was a loving and caring person and a great mentor to the students he taught and coached. He loved sports and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Bobby James DuBois and wife, Jessica, and Chris Paul DuBois of Houma; two brothers, Joe Thomas McKinney and wife, Faye, of Prattville, Ala., and Pat Bowers and wife , Bonnie, of Fordyce; four grandchildren, Sonny Blanchard, Alexis DuBois, Fayth DuBois and Dylan Billiot; one niece, Mary Ann Robichaux of Chauvin; and her friends, Kathy and T.C. Canter, Daryl and Penny Cunningham of Houma, and Donna and William Young of Fordyce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Paul DuBois; her parents, Harold Bowers and Ruby McKinney Bowers; and one brother, Paul Bowers. She was the secretary and bookkeeper at Gino's and a member of Thibodaux Family Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Houma Chapter of the American Heart Association, P.O. She is survived by three sons, John Meyers Keife of West Palm Beach, Fla., Robert Nebe Keife and wife, Irene, and David Thomas Keife and wife, Maureen, of Houma; two daughters, Kathlyn Keife Broussard of River Ridge and Mary Beth Keife Pyles and husband, Mark, of West Palm Beach; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Conrad and husband, Erich, John B. Keife, Robert Keife and wife, Cammie, Stephen Keife, Richard Keife, Jonathan Keife and wife, Michelle, Allison Clement and husband, Corey, Anne Mason and husband, Scott, Elizabeth Broussard and Paul Broussard; and six great-grandchildren.
