He is survived by his wife of 53 wonderful years, Bonnie LaRussa Duplantis; two children and their families, Donna Weaver and her daughter, Ashley Triche, and husband, Paul; and his son, Tommy Duplantis and his wife, Elvy, and their son, Diego; two sisters, Jo Howell and Betty White; and one brother Pat Duplantis. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He spent most of his life in the oil-and-gas industry until his retirement from Balon Corp. in 2002. He was born in New Orleans, grew up in New Orleans and Houma and resided in Morgan City before moving to Lafayette 31 years ago. He attended Holy Cross Academy in New Orleans and graduated in 1959 from Terrebonne High School. He attended McNeese State in Lake Charles and was a member of the McNeese Cowboy Football Team from 1959-1963. He played on the 1961 and 1963 championship teams and after graduation he coached football at several Louisiana high schools. In 1976, he began his career in oilfield sales. He was very successful and well respected within the industry. He was an avid supporter of the McNeese football program and the LSU football program where he was a top 100 Tiger Athletic Foundation Member. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed the many hours he spent riding his bike at Red's. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by one son, Eric Kitto and wife, Laurel, of Prairieville; two daughters, Kim Lukinovich and husband, David, formerly of New Orleans, and Julie Wilkerson and husband, Gifford, of Houston; one brother, H. Richard Butker of Atlanta; and 14 grandchildren, John, Benjamin and Matthew Kitto, Joey, Joshua, Mary, Sarah, Paul, Peter and Phillip Lukinovich, Cecilia, Haydel, Kyle and Lillian Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armand Eldon Kitto; her parents, Henry G. Butker , M.D. and Dorothy Marie McLaughlin Butker; and one sister, Anne Butker Fite. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, Mark Landrum and Cody Landrum; two daughters, Terry Pynchon and husband, Ed, of California, and Karen Dupre and husband, Arlen; and six grandchildren, Eddie and Ryan Pynchon, Brandon Landry, Cayden Landrum, Blaine Dupre and Cassie Boudreaux.
