She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She always said that when she got to Heaven she would have a kitchen big enough to cook and feed everybody. She will be missed tremendously by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Champagne of Houma; two sons, Vernon James Champagne and wife Catherine of Houma, and Tommy Champagne and wife, Kim, of Bayou Blue; one daughter, Judy Gaudet and husband, Danny, of Houma; eight grandchildren, Verne Anthony Champagne, Sherry Champagne Kraemer, Brandon Champagne, Quinton Champagne, Nicole Champagne, David Gaudet, Christie Herradon and Katie Indovina; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helaire LeBeouf and Zelda Bonvillain LeBeouf; one son, Benard Champagne; five brothers, Ernest, Royal, Whitney, Reola and Harry LeBeouf; and seven sisters, Agnes Gautreaux, Marie Olivier, Clothile LeBlanc, Myrtle Champagne, Corine Detillier, Cecile Hotard and Margaret Breaux. She was a homemaker and loved baby sitting and was a member of the Woodmen of the World. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph George and Violet Chauvin Detiveaux; one son-in-law, Melvin Ledet; five brothers, Irving, Rufus, Leslie, Charles and A.J.; and one sister, Georgia Martin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After working in the oilfield, he spent several years as a carpenter. He then became a deputy with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and later worked as an assistant manager at K-Mart for 15 years. He enjoyed playing music, writing and researching family genealogy. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was a member of the VFW and a past member of the Lions Club.
