She is survived by two brothers, the Rev. Ulysses Thomas Sr. of Gray and Earl Thomas of Houston; and two sisters, Audrey T. Mart and Laura T. Lee of Gray. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Laura Paul Thomas; one son, David Wilbert Howard; three brothers, Warren Thomas Sr., Wilbert Thomas Sr. and the Rev. Jules Thomas Jr.; two sisters, Naomi T. Jack and Ruth T. Franklin; and her grandparents, Amos and Hanna Paul, Oscar Thomas and Julia Ranker. She was a member of the USC Alumni Association, the retired teachers association, Louisiana Retired Teacher Association and Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Choir member. She was a retired teacher with 28 years of service with the Terrebonne Parish School Board.
