She was preceded in death by her father, Marshall Ray Pullen; and one son-in- law, James Newton Magruder III. Marsha was a caring, generous and intelligent person. One of the many ways that these traits were on full display throughout her life was in her choice to pursue a career in nursing. She graduated from the Touro Nursing School in New Orleans, followed by Anesthesia School at Charity, where she graduated as a nurse anesthetist. Her love of travel and adventure took her to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where she began her nursing career. After a few years, she then returned to Touro in New Orleans. A few years later, Marsha and Jim married and relocated to Raceland where she began caring for patients and friends at St. Anne Hospital in Raceland and then moved to Chabert Medical Center in Houma. Through the years, she touched and helped many people, including playing a significant role in the health-care decisions for her mother and now deceased father. Marsha was the "glue" that kept family and friends in contact and close to one another, and she enjoyed the good times that were had amongst them. Her sense of humor was keen, her laugh infectious and you always knew she was in the room! Laissez les bon temps roulez! The family wishes to pass along their thanks to all of her family and friends that prayed for her recovery, as well as to the outstanding professionals at both Ochsner and Touro. Their compassionate care for Marsha was thorough and comforting and is appreciated by all of us. Marsha would be very proud of all of you. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Marsha's favorite charity, The American Cancer Society.
