He was an athlete at Westwego High, where he graduated. He honorably served in World War II with the 363rd Engineers, Company D, SS, being discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. He served in the Middle East and received the European North African Medal, the Good Conduct and Victory Medals. He was a member of the Luling VFW Post No. 3750 and Baudoin-Loupe American Legion Post No. 316. He was for many years an active member of St. Anthony and Holy Family Parishes in Luling. He was a retired homebuilder, building hundreds of homes in St. Charles and neighboring parishes. He took special pride in the construction of Willowdale Country Club, of which he was a charter member. He was one of the first coaches in the St. Charles Recreation Association, teaching many young boys to enjoy America's pastime. He was an avid Saints fan from the time of the team coming into New Orleans until the time he left us. He left us with his strength, his devotion to his wife and kids and his untiring goodwill.
