Lily Mae Simoneaux Conrad, 85, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of 
Thibodaux, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt 
Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the 
church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her companion, Olida Hebert; three sons, Donald L. Conrad of 
Vacherie, Merlin Jr. Conrad II of Thibodaux and Tommy L. Conrad of Thibodaux; 
one daughter, Darlene J. Dreyer of San Antonio; one brother, Leroy Simoneaux of 
Metairie; nine grandchildren, Miranda Conrad, Charlotte Conrad, Merlin Conrad 
III, Angelique Tregre, April Yarbrough, Erica Montanye, Darre Conrad, Kamie 
Conrad and T-Don Conrad; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Merlin Price Conrad; her second 
husband, Roselus Reulet; her parents, Allain Simoneaux and Elda Rivere 
Simoneaux; four brothers, Bruno, Allain, Eugene and Gabriel Simoneaux; and three 
sisters, Grace Deroche, Mildred Tregre and Teresa Deroche.

James "Jim" Taylor Folse, 72, a native and resident of Lockport, was entrusted 
to God's loving care at 9:41 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2008.

Memorial visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Holy Savior 
Catholic Church in Lockport. Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the 
church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by one son, Jacques Folse and wife, Rhonda, of Raceland; one 
daughter, Cynthia Folse Mire and husband, John, of Lockport; two brothers, 
Robert and Betty Folse of Lockport and Eugene and Audrey Folse of Raceland; and 
four grandchildren, Joseph Folse, Megan Mire, Philip Mire and Tabitha Mire.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith "Poochie" Jones Folse; and his 
parents, Adolph Folse and Jeanne Toups Folse.

He was a Christian who proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a "Frog-man" on an 
underwater demolition team. After his Navy service, he owned and operated the 
Western Auto Store in Lockport. The store later became known as the hardware 
store. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying with friends and family.

He was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. He graduated 
Holy Savior Catholic High School and Spencer Business College of New Orleans. He 
was a member of the Lockport Rotary Club and the Knights of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Parkinson's 
Disease Association, Bayou Chapter, P.O. Box 405, Thibodaux, LA 70302, or Holy 
Savior Catholic School, 612 Main St., Lockport, LA 70374.

Edward "Ed" Fremin Jr., 75, a native and resident of Larose, died at Thibodaux 
Regional Medical Center at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008.

Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, with 
burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Audrey Schouest Fremin of Larose; three 
sons, Eddie Fremin of Larose, Doug and Neaa Fremin of Katy, Texas, and Jerome 
Fremin of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Cindy and Don Griffin of Larose, Faye 
Fremin of Cut Off and Sarah and Brian Pierce of Larose; one sister, Camelia F. 
Orgeron of Cumming, Ga.; grandchildren, Tara and Garrett Griffin, Craig, Ryan 
and Sadie Pierce, Paul and Jill Fremin, Melanie and Joshua Fremin and Steven 
Fremin; and great-grandchildren, Cade Griffin, Alex, Janie and Kylie Pierce and 
Jalynn Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Della Breaux Fremin; and one 
son, Mark Fremin.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and a U.S. Navy 
veteran having served in the Korean War. He held memberships to the Knights of 
Columbus Council No. 8898, Holy Name Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 
853 and the American Legion Post No. 315. He retired from Texaco after 35 years 
of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Messina and Anna Munieve 
Messina; one brother, Carlo Messina; three sisters, Annie Albrado, Virginia 
Rainey and Frances Willingham. He was the former owner of Best Bakery and a 
deacon at St. Anthony Catholic Church for 28 years.

He was a chaplain of the Knights of Columbus, a past president of St. Joseph 
Italian Society, a Bayou Black volunteer firefighter, a former southeast 
Louisiana regional high school football referee, a former member of the 
Terrebonne School Board, a former board member of SLECA and a member of the 
American Legion.

He was a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy and veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

grandchildren, Tammy Voisin Simon and Mathew and Jessica Voisin; and two 
sisters-in-law, LoLo LeCompte and Myrtle Lou Duplantis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Hazel Voisin Duplantis; 
one sister-in-law, Roberta Duplantis; three brothers, Nelson, Sylvester Jr. and 
John Duplantis; and one sister, Mary Ann Duplantis.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very generous and used her tier 
talent of crocheting to bless others. She will be deeply missed.

Corps and re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Disabled

Rutha Lee McCaa, 83, a native of Vicksburg, Miss., formerly a longtime resident 
of Ponchatoula and resident of Tickfaw, died in North Oaks Medical Center, 
Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008.

A memorial service was held Tuesday at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in 
Ponchatoula.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine Elizabeth "Libby" 
Wilder and Dr. William Wilder and Charlette Stelly and Simon Stelly; nine 
grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Bourg, Erin Christine Hemstreet, Karen Lea 
Wilder, Rex Allen Pellichino, Randy Pellichino, Aubrey Whittington, Janessa 
Burns, Jeremy Whittington and Jayme Whittington; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McCaa; her daughter,

William Dennis "Denny" Parkman, 50, a native of Port Sulphur and resident of 
Waverly, Iowa, died at his home following a lengthy illness, Tuesday, Oct. 14, 
2008.

No services or visitation are being planned as his body has been cremated. 
Memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice Waverly Office.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Parkman of Waverly; three daughters, Lindsey 
Parkman (Brandon Soldwisch) of Waverly, Crystal Grey and husband, Andrew, of 
Ventura, Calif., and Ashley Baker and husband, Jeremy, of Springfield, Mo.; his 
guardian son, Curtis Flege of Waverly; and three grandchildren, Danica Grey and 
Kayla and Aiden Baker; and two sisters, Nancy Leonard of Houma and Kristal 
Hebert of Morgan City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Vera Mae Cobb Parkman; one 
brother, Freddie Gulley; one sister, Bonnie Parkman; and one brother-in-law, 
Edward Leonard.

Denny received his G.E.D. from Hawkeye Technology in Waterloo. He was a self-
employed over the road truck driver. On March 2, 1992, he was united in marriage 
to Connie Ohlendorf Davidson in Patterson. The couple made their home in 
Waverly, where Denny continued to operate his trucking business until he retired 
on Aug. 29, 2008.

He was a member of the Masons and Shriners. He had a passion for motorcycles 
(especially Harley Davidson), enjoyed outdoor activities, loved helping 
children, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

He was a retired purchasing agent with Texaco of 43 years, a charter member of 
the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6170, and a member of the American Legion

as owner and operator of GWB Trucking Company. For several years, he also worked 
as a manager for Acme Truck Lines. Nine years ago, he opened Richard's Conoco, a 
convenience store and deli, which quickly became a popular Grand Isle icon.

Gary will be forever cherished and remembered for the fierce love and loyalty he 
had for his family and friends. His quick wit and always-present sense of humor 
will allow for countless and endless happy memories for all who knew him. He 
enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and reading, but he mostly enjoyed spending 
time and having fun with his beloved family and friends. He will be missed 
greatly and never forgotten.

and resident of Houma, died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rose Girouard Nugent; two sons, William 
Nugent and wife, Dianna, and Clyde Nugent and wife, Melissa; two daughters, Myra 
Regan and husband, Harley, and Carol Fay Briley and husband, Todd; five 
grandchildren, Amanda Hastings, Patrick Nugent, Kellie Nugent, Olivia Nugent and 
Alexa Nugent; and three great-grandchildren, Madelyn Nugent, Andrew Nugent and 
Paige Hastings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Matthew Nugent and Lise Morrison 
Nugent; one brother, Philip M. Nugent; and four sisters, Aline Butcher, Myrtle 
Bear, Elizabeth DeRoussell and Eloise Mitchell.

Prior to his retirement, he was a production foreman for 38 years for Superior 
Oil Co.

He was a World War II Air Corps combat veteran, serving in the invasion of 
southern France and a member of the National Glider Pilots Association.

April, of Lake Charles; two step-sisters, Michelle George of Grand Chenier and 
Heather Guillory of Lake Charles; grandparents, Wilma Picou of Sulphur, Lizzie 
Dean of Alexandria and Donald and Wiladean George of Lake Charles; one niece, 
Aubrey Picou; three nephews, Drake, Zach and Timothy Godette; his girlfriend, 
CRissa Morales of Sweetlake; and numerous other friends, family members, 
including those from the Houma area.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ralph Dean and Jean Picou Sr.; and 
two aunts, Angela Powell and Karen Sisson.

Justin was born Sept. 15, 1988, in Lake Charles, lived in Cameron until 2005, 
and most recently lived in Sweetlake. He was a 2007 graduate of South Cameron 
High School, where he excelled in football, baseball and wrestling. Justin broke 
numerous school records and also won several state championships for wrestling. 
He also served on the Student Council and was a member of 4-H. He was a member 
of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and previously was an altar server for 
Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Justin worked as an operator for 
Island Operators for the past year. He also volunteered as a coach for the Grand 
Lake Hornet Little League football team for the past two years. An avid hunter 
and fisherman, he also was a hunting guide at Big Pecan Hunting Lodge and a 
fishing guide for Blue Water Expedition.

Margaret Graham

Margaret Corinne Graham, 71, a native of Oklahoma City, died Monday, Oct. 27, at 
10:55 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Waples Memorial United 
Methodist Church, 830 W. Main St., Denison, Texas, with burial at Moore Cemetery 
in Oklahoma.

She is survived by her sister Frances Fidler and husband, Joe, of Houston; two 
nieces, Beth Fidler Phillips and husband, Gary, and Mary Cay Fidler Guidry and 
husband, Wilbert, of Houma; three great-nieces, Angie Phillips Ponson and 
husband, Chad, of Mathews, Allyson Phillips of Gulf Shores, Ala., and Margaret 
White of Arlington, Texas; three great-great-nephews, Alex, Seth and Hunter 
Ponson of Mathews; cousins Tony and Glynda Walker and many other cousins; and 
her beloved dog Sassy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Aline Twitty Graham.

She was born 12 minutes after 12, the 12th day of the 12th month and 12th 
grandchild in 1936 in Oklahoma City. She received her B.A. in religion and 
psychology from Austin College and her M.S. in education from East Texas State 
University. She began her career as a Girl Scout district director and camp 
director and worked in Terrell, Waco and Dallas for 11 years. She then taught 
kindergarten in Sherman for 29 years. While teaching, she was selected for Who's 
Who Among American Teachers. After retirement, she became a master gardner, 
worked at Red Cross for two and a half years and Texas 211 for one and a half 
years, and volunteered at Hagerman Wildlife Refuge as a weekend visitor center 
volunteer and editor of the monthly state and national award-winning newsletter, 
The Featherless Flyer. She also volunteered at Denison Helping Hands, Home 
Hospice of Grayson County and at a local hospital as the chaplain's assistant.

She enjoyed her many bus trips with several tour groups, but most of all, her 
trip with her sister and two nieces to England, Scotland and Wales. She told her 
friends that she was going to see the Queen and the Loch Ness Monster. Two days 
after arriving in London it was the Queen's birthday and she attended the parade 
and saw not only the Queen but the whole royal family. Because of the illness of 
her sister, she did not go to Loch Ness to see the monster.

Her church was the most important part of her life after her family and friends. 
June and John Towles, Sue Jarvis and Gail Ringness were especially close to her 
for many years.

Dorothy Sterling

Dorothy Mae Sterling, 59, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died Wednesday, 
Oct. 22, 2008.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Moses Baptist Church 
in Thibodaux. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with 
burial in Moses Baptist Church Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by her fiance, Russell Gaudet; her father, Isaac Perkins Sr. of 
Thibodaux; her stepmother, Edna Perkins of Thibodaux; two daughters, Doris M. 
Brown of Houma and Lois A. Brown of New Orleans; nine brothers, Isaac "Felix" 
Brown of Houma, William Brown, Lionel Moore, Glenn Moore, Michael Moore, Isaac 
Perkins Jr., David Perkins, Ronald Perkins and Chucky Holly of Milwaukee; four 
sisters, Diana Brown of Raceland, Cheryl A. Moore, Patricia Moore and Cynthia 
Moore; one stepsister, Reginal Birdis Williams of Thibodaux; four stepbrothers, 
Reginal Birdis, Kennith Birdis, Roderick Birdis and Rodney Birdis; seven 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sterling; her mother, Cora 
Brown; and one sister, Rosemary Brown.

She was Baptist.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

Simon "Lil Simon" Williams Jr., 85, a native and resident of Ewellville, died at 
Heritage Manor of Napoleonville Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Williams and Southall Funeral 
Home in Napoleonville and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Pilgrim 
Baptist Church in Paincourtville. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday 
at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by five daughters and spouses, Gail and Bartley Johnson of 
Napoleonville, Sabrina and Sonny Ogiugo of Dallas, Trulane and Ernest Brown of 
Belle Rose, Tonja Williams of Napoleonville and Starlet and Richard Williams of 
Fayette, Miss.; four sisters, Irene Parker and Louise Sloan, both of Las Vegas, 
and Julia Morris and Ophelia Williams, both of Ewellville; one brother, Lionel 
Williams Sr. of Westwego; eight grandchildren; and numerous relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ophelia and Simon Williams Sr.; his 
companion, Hollyween Carr; one son, Simon Williams III; two sisters, Hazel 
Williams and Wilana Skidmore; and four brothers, Percy, Walter, Henry and Willie 
Williams.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Lewis Worley, 75, a native of Labadieville and resident of Dorseyville, 
died at Assumption Community Hospital Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Mark Baptist 
Church in Labadieville. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the 
church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Wilfred Worley; two sisters, Beatrice Hill of 
Thibodaux and Audrey Warner of El Paso, Texas; one brother, Howard Lewis of 
Houma; and one uncle, Harry Lewis of Picayune, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Elvelina M. Lewis; two 
sisters, Margaret Tillman and Josephine Lewis; one infant daughter; her father 
and mother-in-law, Paul and Rosalee Worley; two sisters-in-law, Maude Worley and 
Shirley Lewis; and six brothers-in-law, Johnny Tillman, Reginald Warner, 
Thurston Hill, Leo Worley, Leonard Lewis and Habor Franklin.

She worked as a cook for many years for the Robichaux family and served on the 
usher board at St. Mark Baptist Church.

She was a retired custodian at Assumption High School in Napoleonville.
