He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldron Joseph Eschete and Blanche Marie Dupre of Chauvin. He retired from Union Oil Company of California with 34 years of service as the Environmental Manager of the Gulf Division. He attended University of Louisiana at Lafayette and was recognized by the National Registry of Environmental Professionals as a certified environmental auditor and a certified environmental manager. He was a charter member of the Bayou Blue Knights of Columbus council #7657, which was chartered in 1980 and shortly thereafter became a member of the Rev. Adrian Caillouet fourth degree assembly in Houma. He was a member of St. Bernadette K.C. Council #7355 and a member of the St. Bernadette Fourth Degree the Rev. August Vanderbilt assembly #2322. He was an active member of Houma's Bayouland YMCA and served on their board of directors. He was a Red Cross volunteer, serving as logistics coordinator and on the advisory council. He was an accomplished genealogist and a member of the Terrebonne Genealogical Society and the Lafourche Heritage Society.
