p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to funeral time Sunday at Samart Funeral Home of 
Houma. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Bijeaux; three sons, Andrew, Warren and 
Simon Bijeaux; three daughters, Bonnie Bijeaux, Judy Lirette and Rebecca 
Lodrigue; five stepsons, Roland, Barry, Robert, Ronald and Joseph Dominique; 
three stepdaughters, Rose Greenwood, Carol Abbott and Ella Dupre; and numerous 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Bijeaux Sr. and Ernilie 
Blanchard Bijeaux.

Monty Dufrene, 52, a native and resident of Galliano, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 
2008.

Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Cemetery in Galliano.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Terrebonne Dufrene; his father, Arthur 
Dufrene; one son, Aaron Christopher Dufrene and wife, Marcy; one brother, Arthur 
Dufrene Jr.; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Plaisance Dufrene; and two 
brothers, Daniel and Kim Dufrene.

He was Catholic.

She is survived by her husband, Griffin Muse Jr. of Paincourtville; two 
daughters and spouses, Cora Lee and Eugene Jones and Verina and Willie James, 
all of New Orleans; one sister, Gertrude Hall of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; 18 
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Willie Williams Sr.; one 
son, Samuel Muse; and three brothers, Augusta, Willie and Ollie Williams.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Usher Board at St. Charles Baptist 
Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Buras Robinson of Houma; two daughters, Mary 
Richey and husband, Johnnie, of Powhatan, Ark., and Julie Fanguy and husband, 
Edward, of Houma; two sisters, Rita Godwin of Booneville, Miss., and Hazel 
Maniscalco of Arabi; five grandchildren, Brad Fanguy, Hannah and Amber Robinson, 
Stephanie and Shawn Richey; and one great-grandchild, Morgan Babineaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross Robinson and Caroline Rabalis 
Robinson; one son, Donald 'Bubba" Robinson Jr.; one grandson, Timothy Robinson; 
and one brother, Jules Robinson.

He was a retired security guard with Vincent Guard and a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of Word of Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eustache Lafont Sr. and Selina Crosby 
Lafont; one daughter, Vanessa Lafont; two brothers, Jerry Lafont and Kilben 
Lafont; and four sisters, Clothilde Boudreaux, Agatha Soderstrum, Loretta 
Stanick and Mable Santiny.

He was a retired security guard for Exxon Company USA and a World War II Army 
veteran. He was a charter member of the American Legion for 60 years and served 
as constable of Grand Isle for two terms and as alderman for two terms.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Isle Catholic church.

Ernest J. Breaux Jr., 90, a native and resident of Raceland, died at 3:30 p.m. 
Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland 
and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church 
in Raceland. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the 
church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ada Aupied Breaux; nieces, Lorraine 
Gaudet and husband, Benton, and Barbara Forest and husband, Elge; nephew, Euclid 
Danos and wife, Elsie, nieces and nephew cared for him as a father.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Breaux Sr. and Justine Brown 
Breaux; four brothers, Philip, Pierre, Alcide, and Eddie "Jim" Breaux; and three 
sisters, Clara Danos, Azilda Dugruise and Annie Danos.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the VFW Post No. 3665 of Raceland and 
Senior Citizens Center. He served in the U.S. Army as a private first-class 
military policeman who assisted in the enforcement of military laws and 
regulations, maintenance of order and control of traffic. He also was a French 
interpreter for the general and officers while stationed in French-speaking 
countries. He served overseas in the European Theater. After his military duty, 
he returned to Raceland where he planted, cultivated and harvested cotton, corn 
and vegetables; it was his love and passion to give out his produce to all his 
friends. He also retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation.

He will be missed by all who new him.

He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church.

years who returned to reside in Raceland since 1975, died peacefully at 
Terrebonne General Medical Center after complications of a long illness and 
pneumonia, at 3:37 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008.

Church in Schriever. Mass will be at noon Tuesday at the church, with burial in

He is survived by one daughter, Emily D. Adams and husband, Michael, of

Gertie Zeringue of Raceland; and three brothers, Norman Danos of Ponchatoula,

Harry Raymond Long Sr., 81, a native of Houma and resident of Brownsville, 
Texas, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.

Buena Vista Burial Park with military honors conducted by the VFW Post No. 2035 
under the direction of Commander Luis Lucio.

He is survived by one sister, Emeline Cunningham; two sons, Reynaldo Long Sr. 
and wife, Lavinia, and Harry R. Long Jr. and wife, Danielle; three 
grandchildren, Reynaldo Long Jr., Shelbi Marie Long and Aiden Curtis Long; and 
numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Dennis and Emily C. Long; his 
wife, Maria de la Luz Long; one brother, Charles R. Long; and one sister, 
Dorothy L. Authement.

He was a veteran of foreign wars having served in the U.S. Army for four years 
and did a tour of duty in Italy with the Blue Devils Infantry Division. He moved 
to Brownsville in 1949, where he met and married Maria de la Luz Castillo. He 
was in the shrimping industry since the age of 16, from which he established the 
Long Shrimp Company Inc. He continued to be involved with the business along 
with his sons after his retirement.

She was well known in her community for restoring antiques, needle point,

She was a charter member of Strafford Missouri Chapter of the Eastern Star and 
the Memorial United Methodist Church.

and resident of Montgomery, Ala., departed this life to be with her Lord and 
Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008.

University of South Alabama Medical School.

Montgomery; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Elfert Hebert; her father, Gilbert 
Hebert; one brother, Gilbert G. Hebert; and sister-in-law, Claire Oncale Hebert.

Special thanks to the Montgomery Cancer Care Center and VistaCare Hospice for 
their kind care of our mother through her illness, especially in her final days.

and the U.S. Army National Guard, Company 1, BG. 156th Infantry. He was a valued 
employee of Frank's Motor Company for 42 years and Courtesy Motor Group for 6 
years. He was everyone's favorite mechanic. He will be dearly missed by all 
those who knew him.

She was born Oct. 11, 1914, in Bourg and lived in Lake Charles since 1969. She 
was a graduate of Terrebonne High School and received her degree in home 
economics in 1936 from Louisiana Normal College, now Northwestern State 
University. She started teaching as the home economics teacher in Creole and 
boarded in the home of Numa and Helen Broussard, the parents of her future 
husband, Whitney. They were married on Dec. 29, 1936. She taught two years then 
began her family of eight children. They moved to Lake Charles in 1969. She was 
a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and Ladies Altar Society.

The family would like to give special thanks to Callie and Odyssey Hospice for 
the care given to their mother.

Audrey Lambert Babin, 76, a native of Belle River and resident of Bayou Blue,

grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Poirrier Bergeron; his parents, Dewey

He was a retired manager for Republic Supply and a U.S. Air Force veteran, 
serving during the Korean War and World War II.

Clara Ethel Ellender Broussard, 94, a native of Bourg and resident of Lake 
Charles, passed away at 1:50 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008 at her residence.

Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today, with a Ladies Altar Society Rosary at 7 
p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon George Carr officiating at 
Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to 
12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Our Lady 
Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Ronald Groth and Reverend Harold 
Trahan will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery.

She is survived by five daughters, Mary Ann Vineyard of Austin, Texas, Helen 
Hughes of Lafayette, Ethel Fruge, Elaine Trahan, and Patricia Gorin, all of Lake 
Charles; three sons, Whitney J. Broussard, Jr. of Bastrop, La., David Broussard 
of Dallas, and Dr. Richard Broussard of Lafayette; 20 grandchildren and six 
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitney; her parents, Ernest and Mary 
Torr Ellender; one sister, Ellen Walker; one brother, Dr. Ernest Ellender; and 
grandson, David Allen McCall.

Mrs. Broussard was born October 11, 1914 in Bourg and lived in Lake Charles 
since 1969. She was a graduate of Terrebonne High School and received her degree 
in Home Economics in 1936 from Louisiana Normal College, now Northwestern State 
University. She started teaching as the Home Economics teacher in Creole and 
boarded in the home of Numa and Helen Broussard, the parents of her future 
husband, Whitney. They were married on Dec. 29, 1936. Mrs. Broussard taught two 
years then began her family of eight children. They moved to Lake Charles in 
1969. and she was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and 
Ladies Altar Society.

The family would like to give special thanks to Callie and Odyssey Hospice for 
the care given to their mother.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to New Life Counseling, Our 
Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic School or St. Louis High School.

Vernice Marie Vizier Brunies, 78, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of 
Grand Isle, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9 a.m. to funeral 
time Monday at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. 
Monday at the church with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her most beloved grandson, Richard Gary Brunies; two 
brothers, Harris and Curtis Vizier; one daughter-in-law, Theresa G. Brunies; two 
adopted granddaughters, Nikki B. Brunies and Dana B. Bernier; one adopted great-
granddaughter, Madison Brunies; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the very recent loss of her only beloved and most 
cherished son, Gary William Brunies on Oct. 22; her husband, Richard H. Brunies 
Jr.; her parents, Felicien and Sylvia Esponge Vizier; and one brother, Adam 
Vizier.

Along with her family, she moved to Grand Isle at 2 years old and remained a 
resident of the island until her death. Vern, as she was most commonly referred 
to, will always be remembered for her love of flowers and the yard work that 
went into tending them, and also the joy and pride she took in the decorating 
and the upkeep of her home. She loved animals, especially dogs and Gary's horse 
Jimbo. She was a homemaker most of her married life, only briefly working 
outside the home. She was a loyal, loving, devoted and doting wife, mother, 
grandmother, mother-in-law, godmother, aunt and friend. She whole-heartedly 
believed and trusted in her God and her Catholic faith. She will be greatly 
missed and always remembered.
