He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the minesweeper U.S.S. Hazard AM 240 during World War II. He was a member of the Lafourche Masonic Lodge #427 F&AM, Golden Meadow Rotary Club and the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman and trawler and enjoyed camping. She was very active in the Catholic church serving as a commentator and lecturer at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, as a choir member and also a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of Les Amis de la Chanson. On the diocesan level, she was a reader for the LIMEX program in the Diocese's educational development office after completing four years of study with Loyola University. Myra was a loving, caring person who was beloved by all. She will be sorely missed by many. He is survived by one grandson, Pete Brown; one grandniece, Melody Ogelsbee and family; and one grandnephew, Gus Brown. He was widowed twice, to Hazel Saffell Nicely and Doris Miller Nicely. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Florence and Sibby; and one brother, Pete. He was formerly of Chauvin where he enjoyed playing pool each day at the senior center. He was most recently a long time resident of Terrebonne House in Houma. He moved to Louisiana from Maryland where he had worked as a plumber to be closer to family, near his grandson, Earl Brown. In his youth he kept a boat for his weekend fishing trips. He was in poor health recently, but maintained a sharp memory. The family wishes to thank the staff of Terrebonne House for their excellent care and companionship, Bayou Medical Staffing for their friendship and attention, Journey Hospice of Houma and the staff of Chateau Terrebonne for their caring in his final days. Williams Sr., 86, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, July 30, at 11:10 a.m. He is survived by four sons, Reuben and wife Dianne, Frank III, Kit and Stephen Williams; one daughter, Mary K. Williams; one brother, Earl Williams; eight grandchildren, Peter Matthew Williams, Seth, Amy, Sara and Elise Williams, Allison Bungard, Jennifer Zabierek and Michelle Matta; and four great- grandchildren, Hanry and Benjamin Zabierek, Andrew Bungard and Brayden Verdin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine Boudreaux; and parents, Frank H. Williams and Mary Bergeron Williams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a D-Day survivor. He was a longtime auto salesman. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, August 2, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 3, at Falgout Funeral Home's Chapel. A religious service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with entombment at St. Francis II Mausoleum.
