Jackie Ann Alloway Haydel, 64, a native of Mathews, La., and a resident of 
Norco, La., died Saturday, Aug. 29, at 10:50 a.m.

She is survived by her husband, Sheldon Haydel; mother, Ruby Alloway Morvant; 
two daughters, Jamie Bourgeois and Taraha Dardar and husband Mitchell Jr.; one 
brother, Jack Alloway and wife Vera; three sisters, Dina Alloway, Chris Alloway 
and Jane Plaisance and husband Gary; three grandchildren; and numerous step-
children and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Warren Alloway.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and going to the casino. She was 
Christian and a pet lover.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Samart-Mothe Funeral 
Home in Raceland, La., with a religious memorial service to follow.

Lawrence S. Melancon Jr., 79, a native of Gramercy, La., and a resident of 
Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, Aug. 30.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian Deslattes Melancon; five 
children, Dr. David Melancon and wife Shirley of Houma, La., Brenda M. Melancon 
and husband Reginald of Paulina, La., JoEllen Bourgeois and husband David of 
Houma, Randall Melancon and wife Lisa of Thibodaux, La., and Dr. Daniel Melancon 
and wife Gayle of Houma; two sisters, Gayle Anne Deroche and Delores Didier; 11 
grandchildren, Ryan Melancon, Aimee Melancon, Jennifer Vosburg, Michelle 
LeBlanc, Matthew and Brian Bourgeois, Erica Guillermo, Michael Melancon, and 
Stacy, Kelsey and Mason Melancon; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Luke and 
Nicholas Vosburg, Kate and Landree LeBlanc, and Sophia Bourgeois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Agnes Melancon Sr.; two 
sisters, Norma Lousteau and Thelma Marse; and one brother, James Melancon Sr.

He was a faithful husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He 
was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW. He loved to dance and 
was an active member of the Houma Chapter of the Cajun-French Music Association. 
He was also a competitive runner and an avid sports fan.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Thibodaux Funeral Home 
and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at St. Genevieve Church in Thibodaux. 
Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery 
in Thibodaux.

She is survived by her father, Joseph Smith Sr.; one son, Dekota Mosley; two

Smith, and Joseph Smith Jr.; four sisters, Eula and husband Trey Falgout, Amanda 
and husband Amos Celestine, Erica Smith and Leah Griffin; grandmother, Eula Mae 
Verdin; one uncle, Shelton and wife Savannah Parfait; and a host of nieces and 
nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadette Parfait Smith; grandparents, 
Houston Dennis Parfait, Della Marie Parfait, Paul Lester Smith and Robert 
Anthony Verdin; and great-grandparents, Edmond and Edna Verrett.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Grand Caillou Baptist 
Church.

brothers, Wilson Dugas Jr., Allen Dugas and wife Audrey, and Roland Dugas and 
wife Mildred; two sisters, Carman Bussey and husband Stanley, and Lyllian Dugas; 
two granddaughters, Jennifer Ratliff and Cassie Plaia and husband Corp. Leo L. 
Plaia III; and four great-grandchildren, Gage Ratliff, Alesi Croker, Zoey Landry 
and Alayna Plaia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Alesi Dugas; parents, Wilson Sr. 
and Carman Porrier Dugas; one son, Michael Dugas; one brother, Lawrence Dugas; 
and two sisters, Ollie D. Fanguy and Mildred Dugas.

He was Catholic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Horace "T-Nu" J. Guidry, 70, a native of Galliano, La., and a resident of 
Larose, La., died Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7:13 a.m.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Corine Williams Guidry; two sons, Rudy 
J. Guidry and Tate "Bubba" Matherne and wife Jaime; three daughters, Ginger G. 
Simmons, Vickie Price and husband Dan, and Missy M. Orgeron and husband Toddy; 
one brother, Gerald Guidry; former wife, Carrie Hebert Ables; seven 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris J. and Elmira Cheramie Guidry; 
one brother, Ralph Guidry; and one sister, Geraldine G. Johnson.

He was a member of Community Bible Church.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Community Bible 
Church in Cut Off, La., with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at

Clarice Gisclair Ledet, 92, a native and resident of Galliano, La., died 
Thursday, Sept. 3, at 10:57 a.m.

She is survived by one son, Leroy Ledet and wife Lou; one daughter, Marion L. 
Cooper and husband Gary; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 16 
great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic Alain Ledet; parents, Valsin and 
Marie Champagne Gisclair; four brothers, Madio, Dominic, Adam and Samjean 
Gisclair; four sisters, Marie Chouest, Clara Guidry, Fortuna Duet and Adocade 
Duet; two grandchildren, Trudy Ledet Loupe and Teddy Anthony Richoux; and one 
son-in-law, Theodore "T-Do" Richoux.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano and a member of 
American Legion Auxiliary Post 315 in Galliano.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Falgout Funeral Home 
in Galliano with the funeral service to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by one son, Dana Wayne Lofton and wife Melissa G. Lofton; two 
daughters, Becky Lofton of Thibodaux, La., and Lisa Lofton Domangue and husband 
Channing of Houma, La.; former wife, Judy Walker Lofton; one sister: Jane 
Trotter of Dothan, Ala.; and four grandchildren, Blaine Lofton, Dillon Lofton, 
Walker Domangue and Ava Domangue.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman E. Lofton Sr. and Vivian Barker 
Lofton.

He ran several successful businesses in South Louisiana from 1976 to present. He 
was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma. He was a member of the South 
Central Industrial Association and the Society of Petroleum and Chemical 
Engineers.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Chauvin Funeral Home in 
Houma. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Forest Lawn 
Cemetery in Pineville, La.

Max K. Seal

Max K. Seal, 84, a native of Varnado and a lifelong resident of Houma, La., 
passed away after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's Sunday, Aug. 30, at 4:30 
p.m.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Yvette Baldwin Seal; one son, Dr. 
Lawton A. Seal and wife Janet of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Maxine Verret 
of Houma; one brother, Leroy "Slick" Seal of Varnado; one sister, Lexie Thomas 
of Varnado; four grandchildren, Jerrie A. Graves and husband Jeff of Houma, 
Lawton A. "Andy" Seal II and wife Sarah of Arlington, Texas, Kayleen E. Valure 
and husband David Jr. of Houma, and Cpl. Max K. Verret and wife Kaegan of Houma; 
two step-grandsons, Ronald E. Wright and wife Heather of Houston, Texas, and 
Ryan H. Wright and wife Cindy of Ashburn, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Dustin 
V. Graves, Ileana M. Graves, David J. Valure III, Lawton A. "Trey" Seal III and 
Hunter L. Valure; two step-great-grandchildren, Rachel Wright and Ryanne Wright; 
and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, caregiver Kellie Pierre and many, many 
friends.

He was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in Houma. He was also a 
respected and known businessman within the community. He owned and operated 
Seal's Service Station for over 40 years. He was a 32nd degree Free Mason as 
well as a Shriner. He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for memorials.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. 
Monday, Sept. 7, at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. The funeral service will be 
at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with entombment at Terrebonne Memorial 
Park Mausoleum.

Margaret Rowe Crouch

Margaret Rowe Crouch, 68, a native of Robeline, La., and a resident of Franklin, 
La., died at Dautrive Hospital in New Iberia, La., Friday Sept. 4.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Crouch Jr.; one daughter, Amanda Crouch 
of Franklin; and two sisters, Joann Yellott and husband Donald of DeQuincy, La., 
and Dixie Williams of Shreveport, La.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Louis and Tecia Burns Rowe; 
and one brother, Bobby Ray Rowe.

She was a lover of all animals of which she adopted many. She was a member of 
the ASPCA and enjoyed working with the organization. As a legal secretary, she 
developed a liking for reading almost anything but mainly books and papers about 
the legal profession. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and visiting with 
family and friends, and helping others in many ways.

The funeral service was Monday, Sept. 7, with burial at Morgan City Cemetery.

wife Challie, all of Morgan City; two daughters, Debbie Navarro and husband 
Ricky, and Glenda Rice and husband David, all of Morgan City; one brother, Harry 
Deslatte and wife Rena of Morgan City; one sister, Ruby Aucoin and husband 
August; one sister-in-law, Carmen Deslatte of Morgan City; and numerous 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Telesphore and Ella Deslatte; two 
brothers, Joe and Roland Deslatte; and two grandchildren, Jason Dehart and Paul 
Rice.

"Shine" enjoyed the simple things of life, including hunting, fishing and 
cooking. The thing that he loved the most was the joy that his family brought to 
him.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church in Morgan City. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. at the church 
with burial at Morgan City Cemetery.

Carl H. Hayes of Stockbridge, Ga., and Paul S. Doty of Jonesboro, Ga.; 10 step-
grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and 
many good friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Matherne Flippo; parents, James H. 
Flippo amd Annie Lou Brady Flippo; step mother, Roxie R. Flippo; one step 
daughter, Frances Breaux; one step son, Noah J. Breaux; one step granddaughter, 
Sheila A. Breaux; one step grandson, Noland P. Breaux Jr.; three sisters, 
Barbara Hayes, Judy Doty and Evelyn Lawson; and one brother, James F. Flippo.

He was an electronics roustabout and served in the U.S. Air Force during the 
Korean War. He loved music and occasionally played the piano at Maison De'Ville 
nursing home, where he had been a resident for the past three years.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Chauvin Funeral Home 
with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Matherne Cemetery.

lunchroom manager for Terrebonne Parish School Board for 25 years. She was a 
member of the Happy Mixers Bowling League, the St. Eloi Kaycee Auxiliary, and 
the Cackling Hens Card Club.

He was retired from CRC Wireline and enjoyed cooking and camping with his

Boudreaux; parents, Charles Boudreaux and Lidia LeBouef Boudreaux; five 
brothers, Clifford, Charlie, Chester, Logan Rivern and Elmore Boudreaux; and two 
sisters, Lydia and Loretta Boudreaux.

He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church. He was a self-
employed barber for 55 years. He was a member of the North Houma Volunteer Fire 
Department for 40 years, an honorary charter member of the Bayou Black Volunteer 
Fire Department and a charter member of Bayou Cane Fire Department. He started 
the Coteau Volunteer Fire Department, Bayou Black Fire Department and the Bayou 
Cane Fire Department.

grandchildren, Theresa "Terry" Mitchell Horton, Julie Mitchell Gardner, Deana 
Mitchell Schutte, Nicki Mitchell, Ocie Scott Mitchell, Rosemary Mitchell Grant, 
Stacey Eschete Rembert, Amanda Eschete, Floyd J. Eschete III, Paige Mitchell,

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ocie L. Mitchell

She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church where she taught CCD for 13 
years and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society for 46 years. She was a 
member and past president, treasurer and secretary of the Bourg Lions Ladies 
Auxiliary. With over one thousand service hours, she was a proud VIP volunteer 
for Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana. She was also a life member of the VFW Ladies 
Auxiliary Post # 7755. She was also a volunteer for the Lions Eye Foundation, a 
member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Chapter 24, a member of the National 
Congress of Parents and Teachers, and a volunteer at the Bourg fair. She was a 
homemaker who loved sewing and fishing and you could find her at the bingo hall 
almost any Sunday night.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. 
Thursday, Sept. 10, at the St. Ann Community Center in Bourg. Mass will be at 11 
a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church with burial at the church cemetery.

He worked at United Gas Pipeline for 20 years and was the owner of Eastside Bowl

of Padua Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and sports. He used to 
coach Babe Ruth baseball and played softball for Texaco and other various teams. 
He was in the Hall of Fame for bowling.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Emelton "Molly" Molaison 
Sr.; parents, Edescar Boudreaux and Elescia Champagne Boudreaux; one brother, 
Irvin Boudreau; two sisters, Wilma Boudreaux Voisin and Vivian Boudreaux Voisin; 
and one great-grandchild, Brayden Molaison.

She was a housewife, school cafeteria worker and in her early teens and 20's she 
worked for Aunt Ismay Pere at the Style Shop and at Haydel's drug store soda 
fountain. She had a big heart and loved her family. Her greatest joy was playing 
cards with her family and listening to and singing along with her favorite 
songs. Her greatest joy of all was reciting her rosary and her favorite saying 
was "ALL THIS AND HEAVEN TOO!"

Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at St. Eloi Catholic 
Church in Theriot with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the 
church cemetery.

Lloyd E. Ponson

Lloyd E. Ponson, 82, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Thursday, 
Sept. 10, at 3:23 a.m.

He is survived by four sons, Lloyd G. Ponson, Bruce E. Ponson, Don C. Ponson and 
Douglas "Doug" Ponson; two daughters, Janet "Jan" P. Bruce and Mary C. Ponson; 
one brother, Leroy Ponson; one sister, Ruby P. Dufrene; 18 grandchildren; and 17 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet R. Ponson; parents, Isley J. and 
Louise Ponvelle Ponson; and one grandson, Joshua Lloyd Ponson.

He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Raceland. He was a U.S. 
Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW. He was retired 
from Exxon and the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office. He was an avid hunter and 
trawler and enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at St. Mary's Catholic 
Church with a military service at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial to 
follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Berwick, La., died Friday, Sept. 4, at 11:05 p.m. following a short illness.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 49 years, Florence Parsons 
Williams; two daughters, Celeste Williams (Joseph) and Carmen Robinson 
(Clarence), all of Berwick; one son, James A. (Diana) Williams of Franklin, La.; 
three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Yvonne) Wilson of Morgan City, Geneviene Greene and 
Mrs. Cornelius (Birdie) Mills, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; four 
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two special nieces; and a host of 
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of which he cared deeply for.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.

James dedicated 34 years of service to Schlumberger Oilfield.

Theresa Pellegrin Hebert, 89, a native and former resident of Little Caillou, 
La., died Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 12:30 p.m.

She is survived by one foster daughter, Betty Bergeron and husband Earl of 
Chauvin, La.; one sister, Marjorie P. Authement of Bourg, La.; one great-niece 
and caregiver, Jessica R. Blair and husband Glenn of Houma, La.; two great-
great-nieces, Grace K. Blair and Olivia K. Blair, both of Houma; and a host of 
nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces; and great-
great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Druby Joseph Hebert; one foster 
daughter, Kathleen Daye LeBoeuf; parents, Felix A. Pellegrin and Clavia 
Robichaux Pellegrin; three sisters, Eta Pellegrin Dupre, Marie Pellegrin and 
Inez Pellegrin Daye; and two brothers, Calvin J. Pellegrin and Modris J. 
Pellegrin.

She was a retired teacher with over 40 years of dedicated service. She was a 
member of the St. Joseph's Ladies Altar Society, Knights of Columbus Ladies 
Auxiliary, the W.O.W. Lodge 870, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9608, the 
American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit No. 380, and the Catholic Daughters of 
America Court Pere Denece 1891. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata and 
St. Joseph Catholic Churches.

The family would like to extend sincere and heartfelt thanks to Vickie, Brenda, 
Christy, Kristy, Linda, Melinda and the entire staff of the Homestead Assisted 
Living Facility for all of their loving care that they gave to Theresa. They 
would also like to thank the entire care team at Journey Hospice, especially 
Delores, Felicia, Grace and Father Wilmer Todd. All of you were instrumental in 
giving Theresa peace, comfort and dignity she ever so deserved.

Nelia had a zest for life and you could see it in her smile and hear it in her 
singing everywhere she went. She enjoyed cooking and especially frying up good 
ol' beignets for family and friends. Nelia liked to cut a rug and at times just 
liked to sit and listen to music play on the radio. Nelia loved to travel and 
experience new sights and people wherever she went. Nelia was just plain fun to 
be around! Her family and friends will truly miss Nelia.

He was a retired body shop manager for Porche Motor Company. He was the kindest, 
most gentle man you have ever known. He was the most devoted husband, father and 
grandfather ever.

brother, Russell Strada of San Francisco, Calif.; five nieces and nephews, 
Caroline, Catherine, Ladd Straatman, Benjamin Cannon and Sarah C. Olivier and 
husband Alex; one great nephew, Gabriel Olivier; one great niece, Grace Olivier; 
and many aunts, uncles and cousins

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Peaches R. Trotter; parents, 
Alex L. Dagate and Emmadel Boyne D. Strada; and grandparents, Andrew Boyne, Mary 
Belanger Boyne, Lawrence Dagate and Victoria C. Dagate.

He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. 
He graduated form Vandebilt Catholic High School in 1970. Jerome was very 
inspirational to those who knew him especially in teaching his family many 
lessons of life such as acceptance, kindness, patience and peace. He was a meek 
and humble disciple of Jesus who studied the Bible and lived a very simplistic 
Christian life. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed.

Special thanks to his social worker, Lenora Clay and Ms. Judy LeBoeuf, his house 
mom.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at St. Bernadette 
Soubirous Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will

He was an aircraft mechanic and a union electrician with the local 130 in New 
Orleans, La. He served during World War II with the U.S. Navy on the island of 
Guam in the Pacific and during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force in 
Albuquerque, N.M. He was an active parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. He 
enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, traveling and making people laugh. He 
was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all.

Loraine is survived by three daughters, Sheila McFarland of Morgan City, Andrea 
Pyle and husband Thomas of Denham Springs, La., and Paula Ford of Independence, 
La.; one son, Dennis J. Fields and wife Lady of Denham Springs; 17 
grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; one sister-
in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eugenia Callahan; her 
husband of 65 years, Tilden J. Fields; one son, Mark W. Fields; two 
grandchildren, T. Jay Pyle and Hope Sands; three brothers; and one sister.

Loraine loved her family, her faith, her many flowers and food. She loved to 
cook, almost as much as she loved to eat seafood, especially crabs. She was mama 
or grandma to any and all who needed one. Anytime you came into her home she'd 
have anywhere between 6 and 13 vases of fresh flowers from her yard. She was 
tenderhearted and loving and will be sadly missed by all whose lives she has 
touched in her 88 years on this earth.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Twin City Funeral Home 
in Morgan City, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Holy Cross Catholic 
Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. 
Lorraine will be laid to rest at the Morgan City Mausoleum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nollie Arcement Sr. and Alcida Theriot

She was a retired secretary from the Lafourche Parish School System. She was a 
parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland and a member of Catholic 
Daughters and American Legion Post #349.

Roger Greene, 62, a native of Grand Isle, La., and a resident of Tampa, Fla., 
passed away at his home Tuesday, Sept. 15.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Greene; three children, Tracey and husband 
Jesse Cyree, Travis and wife Karin Greene, and Trenton Greene; two 
grandchildren, Tyler Greene and Logan Greene; mother, June Greene; and two 
brothers, Joel and Mickey Greene.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Greene.

Roger was known throughout Louisiana and Florida as the innovator who introduced 
artificial lures to big game fishing in the Gulf of Mexico to great success. He 
was raised in the close-knit community of the Humble Oil Camp on Grand Isle 
where he spent summers soaking up fishing knowledge on charter boats. After 
graduating from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1970, 
he worked in boat brokerages, but was always in demand as a captain during 
tournaments throughout the Gulf Coast. He spent 15 years as a professional 
marina manager at Oceanside Marina in Key West, Fla., leading successful 
property development projects and acting as the local IGFA representative. He 
retired last year to live in Tampa.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Chauvin Funeral Home 
in Houma, La., with a memorial service to follow.

Willment Ambrose "Lap" Lapeyrouse, 91, a native and resident of Morgan City, 
La., passed away Thursday, Sept. 17.

Lap was survived by his two daughters, Suzanne Boudreaux of Tennessee, and Wilma 
Gaudet and husband Danny of Florida; one son, Roy Lapeyrouse and wife Rita of 
Denham Springs, La.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, 
Eula Arcemont, Rita Songe, Joyce Pertuit and Dot Mason; one sister-in-law, Rita 
Mae Lapeyrouse; and one brother, Enest Lapeyrouse.

Lap was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lapeyrouse; and parents, Enest and 
Alida Lapeyrouse.

A long time resident of Morgan City, Willment was best known as "Lap the Barber" 
by his friends and customers. He practiced his profession from 1936 till the age 
of 87. Lap enjoyed visiting with his customers and is remembered for his 
quickness and precision cuts. Flat tops were his specialty. Lap loved hunting 
and fishing. He enjoyed his seaplane and shrimp boats. His family will remember 
all the seafood and barbecue gatherings. Lap knew how to fix anything and if he 
didn't he would continue until he figured it out. He never gave up and never 
stopped. He often would say, "tomorrow will be an even better day". Truly it is 
for him today. For us he will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Twin City Funeral 
Home with the funeral service officiated by Father Noas to follow. Interment 
will be at Morgan City Cemetery.

board member of the Texaco Credit Union.

LeBoeuf Bruce and Katie Samanie; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Samanie Sr.; one son, Bryan

one sister, Aline Lirette Samanie.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was Catholic and a parishioner of 
St. Louis Catholic Church.

Velma Dupre Scully, 76, a life long resident of Morgan City, La., passed away 
Thursday, Sept. 17, at Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma, La.

Velma is survived by her companion of 19 years, Leroy Breaux of Amelia, La.; 
four sons; Edward Scully Jr. and wife Patty of Morgan City, Roger Scully and 
wife Renee' of Bayou Vista, La., Anthony Scully and companion Shelly Duval of 
Amelia, and Sterling Scully of Amelia; five sisters, Barbara Comeaux and husband 
Heuy of Amelia, Thelma Kennerson of Bayou La Batre, Ala., Katherine Coolee and 
husband Edward of Luling, La., and Mary Palmature and husband Carl of Morgan 
City; and one brother-in-law, Buddy Bowen.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Scully Sr.; parents Sterling 
and Ellina Dupre; and three sisters, Martha Bowen, Eve Dupre and Lydga Dupre.

Velma retired from Bailey's Seafood after working in the seafood factories for 
40 plus years. She loved her family and always worried about their well being 
more than her own. When entering her home she made sure you were not either 
hungry or thirsty. She loved to cook for you and she loved her flowers both 
inside and outside. Velma will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at St. Andrew's Catholic 
Church in Amelia with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Velma will be laid to 
rest at St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery.

Russell Bruce, 66, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Saturday, Sept. 
19.

He is survived by his wife, Carol "Kate" Danos Bruce; two sons, Mark Bruce and 
wife Susan, and Emmett Bruce and wife Dodie; four brothers, Daniel, Eddie Jr., 
Charlie and Tony Bruce; two sisters, Geraldine Coupel and Judy Matherne; and two 
grandsons, Quenton Bruce and Noah Bruce.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Ida Bruce; and one 
granddaughter, MaryKate Bruce.

He was a member of Community Bible Church and was on the Board of Directors of 
South Lafourche Bank. He was also a former member of the Levee Board and a 
retired commercial fisherman. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

Memorial Playground at Community Bible Church.

her two sons at her bedside.

"Lil" is survived by two sons, Kirk Legendre and wife Cheryl of Lafayette, La., 
and Kevan Legendre and wife Cindy of New Iberia, La.; three brothers, Lewis J. 
"L. J." Rodrigue of Springfield, Oh., Lindsay R. " Tiger" Rodrigue and wife 
Christine of Berwick, La., and Lawrence Richard "Nubby" Rodrigue and wife 
Carolyn of Berwick; two sisters, Mabel R. Griffin of Morgan City and Loretta R. 
Gros of Bayou Vista, La.; 11 grandchildren, Tisha, Alicia, Brian, Kristian, 
Emily, Layla, Derek and Zachary Legendre, Kaitlyn Robles, Joey Daigle and 
Jessica Daigle Vidrine; 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Louis and Eldonia Perrera 
Rodrigue; husband, Wilben Legendre; and one sister, Vivian "Totsey" Simoneaux.

"Lil" was a member of AARP and "Our Lady Star of the Sea Rosary Group" and was a 
very devout Catholic. Church was always uppermost in her mind as she could be 
seen walking to church in all kinds of weather, umbrella in hand, come rain or 
come shine. Of the loves in her life, she loved her husband, children, and 
grandchildren the most, as well as those she worked with for some 39 years at 
City Hall in Morgan City. A more dedicated employee could not be found. "Lil" 
could be seen going about her daily chores in the utility department.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. 
Saturday, Sept. 26, at Twin City Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 
at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. "Lil" will be laid to rest 
with her husband at Morgan City Cemetery.

Elodie Blanco McCrary, 85, a native of Belle River, La., and a resident of 
Morgan City, La., passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Patterson Health Care 
Unit.

Elodie is survived by her daughter, Angela McCrary and fiance' Scott Fisher of 
Morgan City; one brother Tarlton Blanco and wife Verna of Morgan City; one 
sister, Enola Aucoin of Morgan City; and one sister-in-law, Mona Blanco of 
Morgan City.

Elodie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl A. McCrary; parents Joseph and 
Felice Blanco; three brothers, Adam, Sidney and Dudley Blanco; and two sisters, 
Noemie Duggin and Norma Barrilleaux.

Elodie loved to clean, put puzzles together, read, garden and she especially 
enjoyed her dog "Peanut". Elodie also was a devout Catholic, a loving and caring 
mother, and let's not forget a fan of the Saints.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Holy Cross Church with 
burial at Morgan City Cemetery.

and a very loyal Saints fan. We will miss him forever.

She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Pellegrin; two sons, Whyley Pellegrin 
and Howard Pellegrin and wife Susan; four daughters, Edwina P. Naquin and 
husband Chris, Rebecca "Becky" P. Adams and husband Steven, Connie Coles and

grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a foster mother to many and loved everyone.

and husband Greg of Thibodaux; one son, Mitch and wife Deidi Chatagnier Rodrigue 
of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one sister, Claudia Pitre; eight grandchildren; and three 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Amanda Peltier Rodrigue; seven 
brothers, Louis, Clebert, Jessie, Ozemy, Freddie, Simon and Typhy Rodrigue Sr.; 
and five sisters, Louisa Rodrigue, Evelyn Steinwinder, Marianne Falgoust, Jean 
Pitre and Fumae Rodrigue.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

La., died Thursday, Sept. 24.

Gator was survived by his wife, Penny Falgout; one daughter, Shayna Broussard; 
one son, Solomon James Falgout III; one step-daughter, Angelle Duke; two step-
sons, Trent and Chad Duplantis; one sister, Sally Falgout; one brother, Danny 
Falgout; and 13 grandchildren.

Gator was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Falgout and Solomon James 
Falgout Sr.

Gator worked in many fields throughout his life. He was a shrimp fisherman, mud 
engineer for the oil industry, and a pilot for the fish spotting industry. He 
loved the outdoors and spent time boating, fishing and hunting. He was very 
compassionate toward animals, both wild and domestic. His family was most 
important to him in everyday life.

A time of remembrance and reflection will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 
at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City with the funeral service to follow. 
Gator will be laid to rest at the Morgan City Mausoleum. The East St. Mary

She was Catholic and a very active parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She 
was a member of St. Ann's Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and the 
American Legion Auxiliary. She was a receptionist for Dr. Arthur Anisman for 5 
years and a Singer Sewing Machine salesperson for 10 years. She worked the 
church fairs for many years. She sang in the church choir beginning at the age 
of 8 and continuing until St. Ann hired an organist. She cleaned the church 
until she could no longer drive. She sewed altar clothes and washed and ironed 
altar clothes. After she retired she delivered meals on wheels and washed hair 
at a nursing home. She was Business Woman of the year in 1972. She was well 
known in the Mardi Gras community as she altered Mardi Gras costumes and dressed 
the queens for local clubs.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Chauvin Funeral Home, 
and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass of 
Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at the church with burial at St. Ann

Urline "Mimi" Chabaud Hymel, 92, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of 
Bourg, La., entered the gates of Heaven Monday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 a.m.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynndell Guedry and husband Clayton; three 
grandchildren, Fred Guedry and fiance' Debbie, Paula White and husband Timmy, 
and Phyllis Guedry; and five great-grandchildren, Marissa, Joseph and Jenna 
Guedry, and Lindsay and Gabrielle White.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanislaus "June" Hymel; and 
parents, Gustave and Evelyn Mercier Chabaud.

Mimi loved to cook and entertain for her extended family and friends. Lots of 
love and laughter were shared by all who came into her life. She will be 
remembered for her devotion to the Blessed Mother and will be sadly missed by 
her family and friends.

She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church and a 1934 graduate of St. 
Joseph's High School in New Orleans.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. Ann 
Catholic Church would be appreciated.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home 
and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at St. Ann Catholic Church. Mass of 
Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial at St. 
Ann Catholic Cemetery.

Jennifer Dee Naquin, 50, a native of Germany and a resident of Houma, La., died 
Friday, Sept. 25, at 3:35 p.m.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Anthony Naquin; mother, Irma Leger 
Bergeron; step-father, Charles Bergeron; and two brothers, Thurman Jr. and 
Charles Hallum.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thurman Hallum Sr.; and one sister, 
Deborah Sanchez.

She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Church and the manager of Golden Rose 
Antiques.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help defer the funeral costs are preferred.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Falgout Funeral Home's 
Chapel in Houma. Burial will be at St. Francis II Cemetery.

Jessie J. Peltier, 59, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Raceland, 
La., died Sunday, Sept. 27.

He is survived by his wife, Alice F. Peltier; one son, Cody Peltier; one 
daughter, Jessica P. Folse; two sisters, Esther Ledet and Bernice Kraemer; and 
three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Gros Peltier; parents, Gilbert 
and Earline B. Peltier; and two brothers, Herman Peltier and Nolan Peltier.

He was a member of Victory Life Church.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. 
Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Victory Life Church in Lockport, La. A religious service 
will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial at St. Mary Cemetery in 
Raceland.

Rose Dufrene Wiggins, passed away 82 years young Sunday, Sept. 27, at her 
residence.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 wonderful years, Clayton 
Wiggins; three children Ronald Wiggins and his late wife Roylene Wiggins, Glen 
Wiggins and his wife Charlotte, and Gwen Wiggins Sanchez and her husband 
Douglas; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great 
grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Hector and Eunice Dufrene; one son 
Roland Wiggins; mother- and father-in-law, Bernie and Mildred Wiggins; and two 
grandsons Tommy Rivet and Tad Wiggins.

Rose was loved by many. Rose loved her Lord and Jesus Christ to the fullest. She 
loved to grow houseplants, and Ivory's, she gave to all who wanted some.

A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, 
Sept. 29, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Hargrave Funeral Home. 
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. 
Rose will be laid to rest at Morgan City Cemetery.

Clarence "Cool Breeze" Anderson Jr., 67, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a 
resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Sept. 25.

He is survived by three sons, LeAndre N. Anderson of Hinesville, Ga., Nelson 
Williams of Alexandria, La., and Colby Haughton of Thibodaux; two daughters, 
Michelle A. Williams of Thibodaux and Mary Ann Townsend of Houma; one brother, 
LeRoyal Cole Sr. of Baton Rouge, La.; one sister, Fawvette Coleman of New 
Orleans, La.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Anderson Sr. and Alice Sanders 
Anderson; two brothers, Lionell Cole and Roland Cole; one sister, Eldora Cole; 
and grandparents, Amos and Ella Sanders, and Handy and Mary Anderson.

He was Baptist and a foster grandparent.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Moses Baptist Church in 
Thibodaux with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Halfway 
Cemetery.

Emile A. Billiot, 73, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Sept. 
28, at 7:11 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Foret Billiot; two sons, Reggie and wife Tammy 
Billiot and Emile A. Billiot Jr.; one daughter, Christina Cash and husband 
Lawrence; two sisters, Ediana Verrett and husband Usie and Antoinette Carlos; 
six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Rosalie Foret Billiot; one 
son, Christopher Steven Billiot; and one daughter, Marie Billiot.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. 
Thursday, Oct. 1, at Falgout Funeral Home's Chapel. The funeral service will be

Randall Beebe Jr., and Samantha "Sam" Lajaunie and companion Kenneth Lalonde; 
and 11 grandbabies, Ariel "Toots", Jade, Alyssa "Chunk", Kadaria "Punky", Jenna 
Lajaunie, Destiny "Tee", Mia, Sammi "MeMe" Lodrigue, Dayton "Bubba" Beebe, 
Tayler "Tay Tay" Marcel, and Stormy "Papa Swinger" Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lelious Rita Lajaunie Stuard; 
grandmother, Thelma Liner Breaux; and one grandson, Gage Lajaunie.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. 
Saturday, Oct. 3, at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. The funeral service will be 
Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Outlaw Cemetery in Arkansas.
