Bergeron, 91, a native of Ashland, long-time resident of Lafayette and resident of Houma, passed from this life to meet his Savior at 3:20 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until service time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2 in Houma. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Coker Bergeron; one son, Dr. Glenn Bergeron and wife, Ann, of Atlanta; three daughters, Trudy Sasser and husband, Joe, of Ocean Springs, Miss., Deanna Domangue and husband, Ronald, of Houma, and Deborah Beddes of Plain Dealing; one sister, Betty Hebert of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren, Dolive, Nicole, Arlene, Melissa, Michelle, Joshua, Avril, Angelle, Thomas, Sean, Ryan, Joanne, Dustin and Angela; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolive Eschete; one daughter, Patsy; his parents, Oscar Bergeron Sr. and Lillian B. Bergeron; one son, Lonnie R. McEachern; two brothers, Luby Bergeron Sr. and Oscar Bergeron Jr.; and one sister, Elma Vice. He was a graduate of LSU in production petroleum engineering and had retired from Exxon-Mobil. He was active in the KC Council of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette, where he served as Grand Knight for two years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, craftsman and avid golfer. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a parishioner of Maria Immaculata Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ===================
