Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, located at Hickory Memorial Gardens Inc., 67525 La. 41, Pearl River. Service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel officiated by the Rev. Rick Cullin, with interment to follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Inc., Pearl River. He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Rose Schulz Chancey; four sons, Thomas J. Chancey Jr. of Tijeras, N.M., Richard H. Chancey and wife Shiela, Michael R. Chancey and wife, Shannon, and Mitchell S. Chancey and wife, Rachel, all of Houma; one daughter, Lynda C. Acton of Miami, one stepdaughter, Kim Quillivan of Kenner; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Chancey; and four sisters, Shirley Jones, Pat Mathews, Joyce Lopez and Daphne Averett. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Matzenbach Chancey; one grandson, William "Billy" Acton Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Jean Chancey; his parents, James M. Chancey and Edith Waters Johnson; and two brothers, Eugene and Terry W. Chancey. He served in the U.S. Army during the World War II era, receiving the Army of Occupation Medal and the Japan/World War II Victory Medal. He was the owner of Chancey and Associates Inc., a Shriner and a Mason and past master of Unity Lodge 267. He was also a member of ROB Golf Group, Oak Harbor. He was a resident of the Slidell area for the past 10 years. D.T. Williams Funeral Home of Pearl River is in charge of arrangements. ===================
