Carril J. Cooks Sr., 70, a native of Thibodaux and resident of California, died 
Sunday, May 23, 2010.

He is survived by his mother, Mable Stepter of New Orleans; three sons, Romal 
and Jeanette Cooks of San Jose, Calif., Harold and David Cooks of San Diego, and 
Carril J. Jr. and Dawn Cooks of Houma; two sisters, Janice and Dewitt Lewis of 
Gretna, and Gwen and Horace Horton of Slidell; four brothers, Alvin and Vickie 
Cooks of Washington, Rodney Stepter of California, Graelin Sr. and Landria 
Stepter of New Orleans, and Burnell and Dee Stepter of Slidell; four 
grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and 
friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Cooks; his father, Paul Cooks 
Sr.; and his brother, Harold Cooks.

He was a retired truck driver.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of 
arrangements.
