Merline Monica Duplantis, 67, a native and resident of Houma, died at 6 p.m. 
Tuesday, June 14, 2010.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 
a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic 
Church. Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church 
cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Camille Duplantis Sr. of Houma; two sons, Keenan 
LaJaunie and wife, Karen, of Houma, and Glen LaJaunie and wife, Ellyn of Houma; 
one daughter, Melinda LeBoeuf and husband, Cecil, of Houma; four brothers, 
Ronald Deroche and wife, Carmen, of Youngsville, Eugene "Gene" Deroche and wife, 
Diane, of Houma, Lucius "Jay" Deroche Jr. and companion, Kendra, of Houma, and 
Rodney Deroche and wife, Heather, of Houma; one sister, Elvina Gros and husband, 
Mark, of Bayou Blue; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucius Joseph Deroche Sr. and Lillian 
Cunningham Deroche; and first husband, Raymond LaJaunie.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
