Ed graduated from Meridian High School of Meridian, Miss. and the University of Southern Mississippi of Hattiesburg, Miss. He was a teacher and coach at Lucedale Middle School. Ed was personnel director for International Logistics and Frier Marine in Houma and Eastern Shipbuilding Group in Panama City, Fla. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Christ Baptist Church in Houma and most recently the Hurley Baptist Church. Ed was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and softball. His greatest joy and pleasure in life was his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Estelle Brownlee Williamson; his father, Elmer Eidson; and two brothers, Raymond Eidson and Elmer Eidson, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Shoemaker Eidson of Lucedale; two sons, Joseph William and wife, Kimberly Eidson of Many, and Matthew Lee and wife, Cassidy Eidson of Panama City, Fla.; six grandchildren, Hannah Annette Eidson, Luke Eidson, Joseph Eidson, Madison Eileen Eidson, Gaige Mathew Eidson and Remmi Rose Eidson; two sisters, Rachel E. Broadway of Laurel, Miss., and Kaye E. and husband, Earl Mitchell of Northport, Ala.; two brothers, Charles and wife, Janet Eidson of New Albany, Miss., and Mark Webb of Laurel, Miss.; his mother-in-law, Annette Brooks of Lucedale; his sister-in-law, Beth Dean of Lucedale; his brother-in-law, Les and wife, Pam; Shoemaker of Lucedale,; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Reggie Mitchell, Michael Eidson, Kyle Eidson, Charles Eidson, Walt Weaver, Gregg Havard and Lance Ganey. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with interment in the church cemetery. Officiating ministers will be Dr. Wade Ivey and the Rev. Breaux Tageant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund; Hurley Baptist Church or M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Hospital in Houston, Texas. George County Funeral Home of Lucedale is in charge of arrangements. ===================
