Leola Peoples Hawthorne, 90, completed her earthly journey on Thursday, June 10, 
2010, at Cumming, Ga.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to funeral time Wednesday at the Forest Oaks 
Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas. Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at 
the funeral home, with interment at the Zion Hill Cemetery beside her late 
husband, Elliott Hawthorne.

She is survived by one daughter, Diann Hawthorne Douglas of Gainesville, Ga.; 
seven grandchildren, Denise Douglas Welch of Marshall, Texas, Dana Douglas 
Haggard, Peach Bottom, Pa., Terry Douglas Jr. of Cumming, Ga., twin boys, 
Richard Elliot Hawthorne of Houma and Ryan Elliott Hawthorne of Houma, Randy 
Paul Hawthorne of Houma, and Harvie (Buster) Elliott Hawthorne of Houma; six 
great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilburn Peoples of Kerrville, Texas; and one 
sister Elaine Porter of Beaumont, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Hawthorne of Houma; one son, 
Harvie Elliott Hawthorne of Houma; and one great-granddaughter of Richard and 
Megan Hawthorne of Houma; and four brothers and sisters, Ernest Peoples of 
Beaumont, Texas, Ella Mina (Pete) Richardson of Gonzales, Texas, Doris Fehrmann 
of Spring, Texas, Louise Walters, Oklahoma, City, Okla.

She was born, September 19, 1919 in Beaumont, Texas. She moved to Gainesville, 
Ga. with her daughter's family in the Summer of 2009 from Peach Bottom, Pa. She 
was a lifelong homemaker.
