Hayes, 65, was born on Oct. 27, 1944 in Dexter, Mo. and was a long time resident of Larose, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Louverda S. Hayes; five daughters, Pamela Folse and husband, Terry; Samantha Cleveland and husband, Harold, Stacy Hayes and companion, Florin, Edith Hayes and Rachel Hayes and companion, Jody; 11 grandchildren, Keith Lovett, Heather Folse and companion, Charles, Kristan Lovett and companion, Christopher, Ashley Lopez and husband, Gilberto, Tiffany Folse, Kasey Peralta and husband, Lucio, Courtney Ledet, Chansey Ledet, Gage Hayes and Jody Bellanger Jr.; four step-grandchildren, Harold Jr., Vontrell, Jarvon and Katelyn; eight great-grandchildren, Destiny, Dillon, Adrian, Faith, Taysia, Enrique, Ariel and Kyra; three sisters, Judy Naquin and husband, Royce, Minnie Bourg and husband, Jack, and Nellie Kitchens; two sisters-in-law, Alida Serigny and companion Tony and Louella Seringny and three brothers-in-law, Frank Martin, Ernest Serigny and Francis Serigny; his godparents, Herbert and Mae Cheramie; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets of eight years, Foxx, Chico and Jasmine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Mildred Hayes; three sisters, Mildred Cheramie and husband, Chris, Margie Borne and husband, Autry, Ida Martin; one brother, Tommy Hayes; and his mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Lucia Serigny. He loved working outdoors, fishing, cast netting and playing bingo. He was a loving generous man and will be missed by all who knew him.
