Last Modified: Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 9:16 a.m. Roy Charles Labit Sr., 89, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey. Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial at McDonough Cemetery in Gretna. He is survived by his wife, Lois Buhler Labit; one son, Roy C. Labit Jr. and wife, Kathy; one daughter, Anne Labit Key and husband, James; one sister, Patricia Peterson; four grandchildren, Michael Labit, Timothy Labit, Kristian Key and Justin Key; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justus Labit Sr. and Alma Hornosky; two brothers, Justus Labit Jr. and Mervin Labit. He was Catholic, and he served the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II. He was a member of Choctaw Carnival Club and American Legion Algiers Post 218 Lyons Club. He was employed by the City of New Orleans as a comptroller. The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers, Pam Babin, Jeanette Himel, Cynthia Hymel, Catherine LeBoeuf, Kathy LeBoeuf and the staff of Haydel Memorial Hospice. ===================
