Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2010/f1006.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Marie Larsh, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Monticello West Retirement Community in Dallas, where she had been a resident for seven years. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today in Wynne Chapel, Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 3821 University Blvd., Dallas, followed by interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Northwest Highway. Born Marie Elaine Melancon on Aug. 5, 1920, she was the daughter of Emil and Leona Melancon of Houma. Raised in southwest Louisiana, Marie graduated from Louisiana State University and worked in the area before marrying and moving to the West Texas city of San Angelo. She moved to Dallas in 1979 and worked at Sanger Harris / Foley's in Preston Center for several years. Loved for her warm personality and lively wit, Marie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Averitt and husband, Jimmy C. Averitt, of University Park, and Martha Larsh and husband, Tom Wilson, of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Matt Averitt and wife, Lauren, of Dallas, Graham Averitt and wife, Alyson, of Dallas, Emily Averitt Large and husband, the Rev. Alex Large, of Chevy Chase, Md., and Molly Averitt of Raleigh, N.C.; six great- grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Melancon of Houma; two nephews, Steven Melancon of New Iberia and Clint Hurt of Midland, Texas; and two nieces, Beth Geist of Monroe and Joann Jones of Odessa, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Larsh of Pampa, Texas; and her brother Weldon C. Melancon of Houma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home of Dallas is in charge of arrangements. ===================
