Melanie Denise Reed, 47, a native and resident of Chackbay, died Sunday, June 
20, 2010.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Mark Congregational 
Church in Schriever. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church officiated by 
the Rev. Ulysses Reed Jr., with interment at Little Zion Congregational Cemetery 
in Chackbay.

She is survived by three daughters, Raven, Jessica and Tracey Reed, all of 
Chackbay; her mother, Gloria Reed Dotson of Maringouin; two sisters, Renita 
Smith of Madison, Miss. and Shauntell Kline of Brandon, Miss.; four 
grandchildren, William, Jasmine, Mackensie and Zachery; her maternal 
grandfather, Ulysses Reed Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, 
other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gertrude Allen Reed; and one 
brother, Rodrick Reed.

She was a health care provider.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
