Williams, 67, a native and resident of Belle Rose, died Saturday, June 5, 2010. Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at First Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Irving Brown, with burial in the church mausoleum. She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Williams of Belle Rose; two sons, Darwin Walker of San Antonio and Fredrick and Janet Covington of Richmond, Texas; one brother, Royal Reed of Marrero; four sisters, Gertrude Powell of New Orleans; Vivian Mitchell and Lucille McGee, both of Belle Rose, and Bernice Wilson of New Orleans; three stepdaughters, Lillie Bailey of Vacherie, Barbara McBride of Houma, and Janet Covington of Richmond, Texas; five stepsons, Ronald Williams of New Orleans, Gilbert Williams of Houston, Rogers Williams of Atlanta, Donald Williams of Ousso, Okla., and Samuel Williams of Labadieville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lizzy and Arthur Reed Sr.; one daughter, Winnie Walker Means; two sisters, Wharnetta Cola and Emelda Gooden; five brothers, Christian, Arthur Jr., Lawrence, Joseph, and James Reed Sr. She was a retired teacher in the Assumption Parish School system. Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of arrangements. ===================
