Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Pellegrin Wright of Houma; two sons, Thomas L. Wright and wife, Harriet Chauvin, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Richard P. Wright and wife, Diane Troxler, of White Castle; eight grandchildren, Holden R. Wright and wife, Aron, Timothy H. Wright and wife, Blaire, James R. Wright, Anne E. Wright Hebert, Margaret M. Wright, Elizabeth C. Wright, William T. Wright and Anne W. Hebert and husband, Joshua Hebert; one great-granddaughter, Madison H. Wright; two step-granddaughters, Lynell Ervin and husband, Shane Ervin, and Nicole Dufrene and husband, Glenn Dufrene; four step-great-grandchildren, Scott Deloach, Alex Dufrene, Ashlyn Ervin and Alyssa Ervin; one step-great-great- granddaughter, McKinna Deloach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Elward Wright and Levie Druilhet Wright; one son, Robert R. "Bob" Wright Jr.; five brothers, Thomas Elward Wright Jr., Paul Alexandre Wright, Conley Joseph "Dooley" Wright, Kenneth Holden "Doc" Wright and Louis Druilhet "Jet" Wright; four sisters, Alva Larose, Marguerite Cooke, Sarah Sandoz and Marian Wright. He graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1934 and attended Louisiana State University, where he earned a B.S. degree in civil engineering. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in November 1941. He received his commission at Fort Benning, Ga., in June 1942 and served in the Pacific theater for 3 1/2 years. He was recalled to service in 1950 during the Korean War and served as a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He founded and operated Robert R. Wright Civil Engineers and Surveyor until his retirement. He was a member of the Louisiana Association of Professional Engineers and Surveyors, the Society of American Military Engineers, Veterans of Foreign Wars, a charter member of Ellendale Country Club and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a lifelong member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He was awarded the Papal Medal "Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice" bestowed upon him by Pope Paul VI. He was a devoted and loving husband. His greatest pleasure was being with his family. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ===================
