Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be held at noon Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pennison Dufrene; two sons, Steve Dufrene and Andrew Dufrene; six daughters, Judy D. Ordoyne, Ruby D. Ordoyne, Helen D. Bourg, Ann D. Callais, Leona D. Vegas and Grace D. Melancon; three brothers, Whitney, Clifton and Sergent Dufrene; five sisters, Celestine Dufrene, Winnie Breaux, Joyce Vedros, Rose Billiot and Janet Billiot; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris B. Dufrene and Lucia Dufrene; two brothers, Herman Dufrene and Norman Dufrene; three sisters, Evelyn Hebert, Bessie Theriot and Leola Plaisance; and one grandson, Andy Joe Dufrene. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 3150, Holy Name Society and he served as an usher. His passion in life was farming and caring for his family and many animals. He enjoyed watching wrestling, rodeos and old westerns. He was a successful business owner from 1976-2004 with his company, Harris Dufrene Enterprises, L.L.C. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ===================
