FONTENOT, SIMON 

Simon Fontenot, 87, a resident of Ville Platte, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 
Acadian Medical Center in Eunice.

Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time 
Monday at LaVille Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte. A rosary will be recited 
at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the 
chapel, officiated by the Rev. Clinton Sensat.

He will missed by his wife, Jeanice S. Fontenot of Ville Platte; four sons, 
Eddie Fontenot of Tennessee, Gordon Fontenot of Houma, Simon Fontenot Jr. of 
Houma and Lucus Fontenot of Houma; one daughter, Dwana F. Despard of Kentucky; 
eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Tim and Berthe Fontenot; two 
brothers, Raoul and Edward Fontenot; seven sisters, Theresa F. McCauley, 
Clemence Guillory, Rena Mae Fruge, Emma Ettavee Dotson, Lou Fuselier, Emily 
Deshotel and Ida Ostraski.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
