At his request, no funeral service will be held, but friends and family are invited to attend at memorial service at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at Bethany South Center of Hope, 10877 Reiger Road in Baton Rouge. The Rev. Hank Hannagan will officiate. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Cannella Ford of Plaquemine; one brother, Thomas John Ford and wife, Terelyn; one son, Christopher Windham Ford and wife, Becky, all of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Amanda Jane Ford Ellis and husband, John of Laurel, Miss., Melinda Ford Atkins and husband, Ryan of Opelousas, and Madeline Alexandria Ford of Baton Rouge; and blessed with seven loving grandchildren, Cole Ellis, Connor Ellis, C.J. Ford, Holly Ford, Carson Ellis, Jackson James Atkins and Monica McDowell. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Audrey Gautreaux Ford; and two infant sons, Richard Blake Ford and Alexander Hutchinson Ford. Richard was born April 26, 1945. He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High, USM, and LSU, and was band director at Bay High School in Bay St. Louis, Miss., from 1967-1969, and at Baker High School in Baker from 1969-1975. He later went into insurance and annuity sales and was a national sales leader for Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Company for many years. He was an avid SCCA race car driver and instructor and a member of Bethany World Prayer Center in Baker. Resthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ===================
